😴Goodnight from Harrison, New Jersey and Sports Illustrated Stadium.

A #CanMNT scoreless draw against Colombia.

Onto November vs. Venezuela and Ecuador.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Jesse Marsch praised the greater confidence the CanMNT has in its tactical detail and overall mentality.

Was quite pleased with Canada’s game management tonight as well — especially Niko Sigur’s yellow.

“We are starting to look more like a complete team.”

FINAL | 🇨🇦0-0🇨🇴

Jesse Marsch’s side ties the world’s No. 13 team — and looked like the better side for most of the second half.

A clean sheet for Dayne St. Clair, and a great rebound game for Luc De Fougerolles and Niko Sigur.

The #CanMNT belongs.

Mathieu Choiniére and Zorhan Bassong enter the match for Canada.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
That was an exceptionally smart yellow card for Niko Sigur.

Just stopped a massive counterattack from Colombia.

You take those all day.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Jonathan David smashes a shot home after a nice buildup but it's called back for offside.

Wow.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Promise David and Jacob Shaffelburg look set to enter the match for #CanMNT.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
This second half has been all Canada.

Dominating Colombia, and look very close to scoring.

25 minutes left to get a statement win here.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
First #CanMNT sub of the match as Liam Millar comes in for Ali Ahmed.

And as I type, a big save for Dayne. St Clair.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Dayne St. Clair didn't make the save there, but his ability to cut down the angle on Luis Diaz was outstanding.

He hasn't had a ton to do tonight, but that's a moment that will certainly improve his chances of being Canada's No. 1 vs. Crepeau.

Tajon Buchanan has been very involved to start the first half, and loves the off-ball runs with Niko Sigur.

Canada just missing the deliveries, but this has been a much more positive 10 minutes than the first half.

#CanMNT need one soon qith the quality of Colombian subs.

2014 World Cup superstar and former Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez is into the match for Colombia.

This place just went insane. The media desks shook.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
The #CanMNT reach halftime scoreless with Colombia in New Jersey.

Biggest takeaway is that Canada are extremely dangerous in the five seconds after winning the ball, but struggle to do anything in possesion.

Lots to like about Ahmed/Laryea connection too.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Just noticed – this match is the first that the #CanMNT is playing with the TRIONDA 2026 World Cup ball.

Here's hoping the last time they play with it is also in New Jersey. At MetLife Stadium. In the World Cup final.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Tajon Buchanan with an OUTSTANDING chance in the 28th minute from well outside the box.

Jesse Marsch's press works perfect from Tani Oluwaseyi, who won the ball and set up Buchanan for the shot from 25 yards-ish.

Still scoreless.

#CanMNT

Early in this one, but Koné has not been quick enough in midfield. Too patient trying to find a pass, but it's led to Colombian defenders just stripping him of the ball.

Laryea-Ahmed having some nice linkeups down the left side.

But, it's Colombia controlling.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Four changes to Jesse Marsch's #CanMNT tonight against Colombia, and maybe a clear idea of Canada's strongest XI.

DSC
Sigur - Cornelius - LDF - Laryea
Buchanan - Eustaqio - Koné - Ahmed
David - Olwaseyi

No. 26 vs. No 13 in the world.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
A very big match for Dayne St. Clair and Tani Oluwaseyi tonight.

If Oluwaseyi can score vs. Colombia, that likley makes him #CanMNT's outright No. 2 striker ahead of Larin.

DSC with a chance to prove he's a starter.

Plenty of trust in a Koné-Eustáquio midfield as well.

🇨🇦🇨🇴The Osorio Family!

A special night for the Colombian-Canadians, and his grandfather says he wants a draw.

His mom? A #CanMNT win — “of course, I want my son to win!”
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Just getting to Sports Illustrated Stadium for #CanMNT vs Colombia.

Plenty of Colombia jersey vendors and BBQs in the parking lots.

Haven’t seen a Canada kit yet — it’ll be a speck of red in a sea of yellow.

Five more teams punch their tickets to FIFA World Cup 2026.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿England
🇶🇦Qatar
🇸🇦Saudi Arabia
🇨🇮Côte d’Ivoire
🇸🇳Senegal

Make it 28 teams now qualified for the tournament. 20 spots remain.

I could spend hours at @classicshirts.

Some absolutely crazy Canadian soccer throwbacks among their depth of selections.

Canada Soccer’s Nike Deal is up next year — maybe a return to Adidas in the future?
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Love me a pre #CanMNT match run.

Along the Hudson River this afternoon, Newark and Atlanta at Copa América and of course plenty of Toronto and Vancouver.

Canada’s biggest test of 2025 vs. Colombia tonight.
bensteiner00.bsky.social
Make it 23 teams qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

South Africa is back in the in the tournament for the first time since hosting it in 2010 — and that incredible goal from Siphiwe Tshabalala.

That’s seven teams from Africa too.
