Morning #Bluesky friends, let's have mountains of fun this week!

Mt. Vesuvius viewed from Sorrento, across the Bay of Naples.

Sparty 🙏🏼💙

This photograph captures a classic and breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples from a vantage point on the Sorrento Peninsula. The composition is divided into three main layers: the immediate foreground, the expansive sea, and the distant landscape.
In the foreground, a rugged, textured cliff face, covered in a mix of green trees and smaller vegetation, dominates the right side of the frame. This geological formation appears to be a sheer drop down to the sea below. Perched securely on the cliff's upper edge is a distinctive yellow and white multi-story building, characterised by its traditional arched windows and a prominent terrace. The architecture is indicative of the charming, historical villas and hotels that dot the coastline in this region of Italy.
The middle ground is a vast expanse of deep blue sea, the Gulf of Naples. The water is calm, with subtle ripples catching the light, and it stretches across the entire width of the image, leading the eye toward the distant horizon.
Rising majestically in the background is the iconic profile of Mount Vesuvius. The volcano, with its classic conical shape, is a powerful and historical landmark, a constant presence overlooking the gulf. A series of rolling hills and other landforms can be seen extending from the base of the mountain to the shoreline on the left side of the photo.
The sky is a brilliant azure, providing a strong backdrop for a number of scattered, fluffy white clouds that add a sense of drama and scale to the scene. The natural light suggests a bright, sunny day. The overall impression is one of serene beauty, combining dramatic coastal geology, historical architecture, and a famous volcanic landscape under a clear sky. This view is a well-known feature of the Sorrento area, offering a panoramic and picturesque spectacle that has been a popular subject for artists and photographers for centuries.

I visited Drummond Castle Gardens for the first time this week and was really impressed with the range of Autumn 🍂 🍁 colours. As you might expect I took lots of photos but this my favourite. If you want to visit you will need to hurry up as it closes at the end of this month.
