Arsenal. Some politics and a bunch of other random interesting stuff. And now I have a substack (and you should read it!) https://theworldasitis.substack.com/

like having just a good attack with a defense like that probably wins you a lot of things.
I said this yesterday, but our defending is really, really good. We probably are the best defensive football team in the world right now.
Like I don't think the No Kings protests are that important.

But the NYTimes coverage of this is really weird. Like they are purposely trying to bury it.
I looked at 38 papers. The NYT was one of only a few not to have it as the top story and photo

The handful of exceptions were pretty much all places with a big D1 football game

I genuinely don't understand why the NYT is so reticent to give coverage to one of the largest protests in history

I’ll continue to say it until I don’t need to anymore but Jalen Hurts might be the most underrated players in pro sports.

He’s not the best player or qb in the league but he’s far better and far more important to the eagles success than casual fans think
Here is the bottom line for the Eagles with Sirianni. They need a strong tactical mind at OC because he isn't smart enough to get by with a mediocre OC. He isn't Andy Reid.

I do think he has a lot of good qualities as a HC, but this will always be an issue as long as he is here.
I think Wilson is a great example of the inherent bias Arsenal face in the UK media. They are resented as a London club--and London's most popular club--by northerners, and that colors so much coverage.
Also, I know Patullo isn't the whole problem, but he obviously is not a good OC either. It makes no sense not to remove him now - its just delaying his removal in the offseason (which will definitely occur).
I don't understand the Eagles' obsession with Brett Toth. My only guess is that Stout likes him personally. But he is just not good, especially at center. Its ridiculous he's been allowed to stick around so long on the roster.
Mbeumo might be just about the only big money Utd signing that has worked out in years
man Gakpo with a bad miss
buying Wirtz was a mistake. I don't care about the goal/assist stats, but he just doesn't fit into the way they have played since Klopp arrived. He's a 10/inside forward, but Liverpool have never played with those kinds of players.
We’ve given up 3 goals in 8 premier league games and 3 in 11 overall - our defense might be the best in the world
I don’t think gyokekers struggled at all
yeah totally - for me that was his best game of the season. He did a really good job making chances for himself. Also ran like a madman all game, was sprinting when he pressed in the 90th minute.
and if you break that down a bit further, 1 of those goals was a world class direct free kick against Liverpool.

We also haven't conceded in the Champions League or the Carabao cup in an additional 3 games. So 11 games all competitions, 3 goals conceded.
I think our fans don't acknowledge enough how good a defensive team we are.

We've conceded 3 goals in 8 PL games. I think it is quite possible we concede under 20 goals all season.
he's been very good in this game imo, and thats coming from Gyok skeptic.
Best game of Gyokeres's Arsenal career imo
Gyokeres did very well to get that chance, but needs to keep it on net!
Saliba and Timber have not had great games
like i say, I don't know the rule exactly. But I'm not sure that is the case in that circumstance.
and like you say it was a contribution to Fulham in changing the dynamic of the game
I mean is it a foul or not?
but why not? If he contacts his leg before getting the ball, its a foul I think in the rule (could be wrong)
