Not well LOL. At the time she just shrieked and ran out of the room (a very surprising reaction since she was usually very even-tempered), but afterwards it really drove a huge wedge in their relationship. It was only a couple of years before Ben left and those last couple of years were ❄️frosty❄️

I don't have anything halloweeny to share this year except this technique test I was messing around with. Here's Ben's floating head over a couldron. I had no plan since this was just a digital painting experiment. What do you guys think? Any tips?

He thanks you! 😊 It's dyed, but he's been dying it this color for a very long time. It feels much more natural and true to himself than his "natural" color ever did.

Good question 🤔 I think he has learned techniques in his travels from people. He travels all over the place, so he trains with locals who can teach him new things or sharpen his skills. He was originally self-taught, doing what came naturally to him, but has honed his skills over the years.

He's a little bit of a dirty fighter. He hits really hard and he's very well trained. He takes it seriously because he does not intend to be beaten. He knows a lot of combat techniques and can strike several times before the other person gets their bearings. He's very severe in combat!

Depends who he's talking to! A stranger or someone he's working for/with? He's probably lying about everything. Anything he needs to do to make sure he survives and gets his gold. He doesn't really lie to friends unless he feels cornered or like he's about to get in big trouble.

He's quite stoic--the type to suffer in silence and mull things over quietly at his own pace. It would do him some good to find someone he could talk to who would actually get it. Astarion doesn't quite understand the pull of Goaun's faith... and is no fan of Lathander.

Oooh good question. When he's emotionally invested in someone/something, he definitely can't hide it. He wears his heart on his sleeve. For instance, he'd never be able to lie about how he feels about Finn. He just feels it TOO strongly to effectively deny. It feels *wrong*.

Branch to the face! It was when he was still young and not super proficient in healing, so it scarred up. The one on his lip, though, was from getting his ass kicked. He's since learned how to defend himself quite effectively.

Oh, Ben LOVES being an elf--but not in the elitist, condescending way. He just feels very in touch with his homeland, the forests, the harmony of it all... He can access a bit of his fey ancestry with his innate healing magic, and also tends to have all the flighty, wild emotions that come with it.

Sure! He got it after he left home. It's fairly surface level--he loves roses--but more than that, it signifies that he has ownership over his own body and life. He got it on his neck where everyone would see it. In a modern AU, he gets it right after his family cuts him off for... not conforming.

Oooh, Boots follows whichever rules he agrees with 🤭 He's a good boy, pretty morally upright, but stupid rules are still stupid. Sometimes people deserve to get punched. Sometimes violence *is* the answer.

His tentacle marks? They are actually makeup that he chooses to put on. He's a fighter, so he's quite strong, but he figured out his angelic features don't make him very intimidating. He puts on the tough makeup to make him seem a little crazy, a little unhinged to anyone who wants to threaten him.

I've found that most of the cleric classes are really fun to play, even Life if you enjoy a support/non-combat role. He still is a cleric, but he ended up romancing Astarion, which rattled that whole "revile for the undead" thing, so he's a bit confused about that particular teaching from Lathander.
