“Content” is created for others to consume. To fill a bottomless void created by corporations.

Art is something we create for ourselves. To fill our own soul.

We need more artists in this world.
It’s time to start working on this year’s zine. Preorders begin next month.
For those in California that need to upgrade to a Real ID, submitting scans of your documents online allows you to go in the appointment line at the DMV without an appointment. I only spent 20 minutes or so at the DMV. Utterly painless.
A photo taken this past November on an extremely windy day at The Wave. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X and a Fujinon C 450mm lens.
This is my final photo from my February visit to Death Valley. While hiking down an alluvia fan, I spotted this white rock cradled by a dead desert holly. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X and a Fujinon A 240mm lens.

A photo from my February visit to the desert. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film using my Chamonix Alpinist X with a Nikkor SW 150mm. I spotted this short-lived glow the day before, noted the time, then returned to this canyon a bit earlier the following day to photograph it.
Whenever I see the word “Flatiron”, I read it as “Falitron” — which sounds more like a Transformer.
A photo from my February visit to the desert. It was a dry and windy winter, and I loved how course sand was blown among the mud tiles. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X camera and a Fujinon C 300mm f/8.5 lens.
On a windy day in Death Valley, I hiked to a canyon that was sheltered from the wind and photographed this wonderful glow. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X camera and a Fujinon A 240mm lens.
For scenes like this, a bit of front tilt is required. Combine that with stopping down a bit, and I get most everything in focus. This was taken at f/45 on a lens that stops down to f/90.

A photo from my February visit to the desert. Taken on Kodak Portra 160 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X 8x10 camera and a Fujinon A 240mm lens.
Much like my post from yesterday, this too is a scene I’ve tried to photograph several times before finally getting it right. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X camera and a Fujinon C 300mm f/8.5 lens.
Maple leaves love to dance in the slightest of a breeze, but on this particular morning, the air was perfectly still during this 32 second exposure. Photo on Fuii Provia 100f 8x10 film with a Fujinon A 240mm lens on my Chamonix Alpinist X camera.
A photo from my fall visit to Zion. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f with my Chamonix Alpinist X 8x10 camera.
A photo from fall trip to Zion, as seen in the video that went live earlier today. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X 8x10 camera.
My first 4 photos from my fall 2024 visit to Zion National Park. All were photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X camera.
Think it through. 😉
Ever have the urge to stand outside a coffee shop and ask people what time it is?
This is hilarious on many levels. I mean, Mesa Arch? It’s clearly a place I hang out with all my hot influencer friends.
