This is pretty close to what we're asking for in terms of device-level parental controls and leaving the internet alone. It doesn't require ID or other sensitive info uploads, it's a parent inputting their child's birthdate in the phone upon setup

AB 1043 does not apply to websites, meaning the technology is not currently available to adult sites who wish to block minors. While there is inherent privacy risk in all AV solutions, device-based solutions are more privacy preserving than the platform-based verification mandated in other states.

California just became the latest state to require device-level age verification. Under AB 1043, users must verify their age when setting up a phone or downloading apps, forcing Apple & Google to build age-check systems into devices.

Jack is real slow to trust, assumes worst of people til proven otherwise. Nihil is quick to addiction, seeks escape, doesn't think through consequences. Omnia is just easily angry and is quick to snap at people. Lor is perfect but just has an uncanny grin-like expression sort of stuck on her face.
