Buy local and at your farmer's markets is right. You will get to taste the wildflowers from your area instead of Commercial grade "honey" from parts unknown. You always know a legit beekeeper when they won't shut up about it...

Good morning. Go out and touch some grass. We are surrounded by countless amazing sights and sounds every day you just have to pay attention. Sleeping bees this morning.
Two native bumblebees holding tight to the last flower visited last night. Waiting for the sun's first warmth. The background is a yellow shed, flowers are white with bright yellow centers.

This will sound nuts, but look for bits of soft paper or yarn in the cozy places of the car - spare tire well or other trunk compartments if present. Also glove compartment. And yes...some day I'll tell y'all how I know...

May want to check the integrity of the birdseed bag. If compromised, I would suspect a small rodent...they are extremely industrious and motivated this time of year!

Watched it last night and enjoyed it. Really made me want to watch planes trains and automobiles again which I've cued up for today sometime. To me this movie belongs in our cultural holiday film pantheon.

Tough one. In these times I'd say go for the fun kid oriented activity and later plan an educational Fort Sumter trip? I did that one recently, first group of the day is there for flag raising. Gives you the chills.

Today's sights...dry weather persists though we had light showers today. Bees are foraging goldenrod. Many wildflowers are still putting on a show.

Pure pink flowers with many buds and bright yellow fuzzy goldenrod in background. Beautiful mistflower on verge of full bloom. The flowers are a delicate lavender color amidst deep green leaves. A carpenter bee in heaven...immersed in bright yellow goldenrod. A native pollinator wasp in a false foxglove flower. The flower is bright pink.

100%...anything you can put on a pancake or waffle is better on a proper cat head biscuit, including chicken and honey. To our northern friends proper biscuits are not the whomp kind that come from a can!!
