$ODC popped despite a revenue/EPS miss.
The market is seeing mix + pricing discipline drive margins.
Higher-margin animal health/turf up; pet care steady. Operating leverage building; cash flow solid.

Argan’s backlog, gas projects & balance sheet make it a stealth winner of the AI power boom.

Neutral on $KTOS.
Love the tech but price assumes flawless execution. H1’25 rev +13%, backlog ~$1.4B; op margin ~1% vs 10–15% at $LMT/ $RTX.
Trades >200x fwd EPS, ~140x EV/EBITDA.
I’ll buy on a pullback or clear margin lift toward mid-teens.

This week I dive into the “AI Love Triangle”: OpenAI x $NVDA x $ORCL and what this 10-GW buildout means for our key positions like $CLS, $TSM, $POWL & $AGX.

Up 57% in 5 months in $ODC.

Bought at $43, sold at $68 after a record quarter.

Valuation rerated from <8x to 13x earnings.

My updated fair value is $74 but the margin of safety is gone.

Nice day for $CLS ! +342% since inclusion in the portfolio.

$AVGO is helping OpenAI to cook up a custom chip to compete with $NVDA. Since Celestica already uses Broadcom tech for its servers and switches, they might be able to cash in.

Portfolio +17.8% YTD.
While the $SPY slipped, we moved higher—widening the gap. This week’s note is on opportunity cost: every “yes” means a “no.” In life it’s gym vs muffin. In investing, it’s picking the best risk/reward stocks. Trade-offs drive results.

$BABA ’s new AI chip isn’t just about dodging $NVDA bans—it’s about $TSM.

Built by a Chinese foundry (not TSM), it shows how China is rerouting supply chains.

Inference today, training tomorrow. The “foundry to the world” crown erodes at the edges.
$MLI: Great biz, but margins won’t stay at 28%.
FIFO + copper boom made profits look fatter than they are. I see ~23–24% normalized, fair value ~$109 (16% upside).
On my watchlist, not my buy list.

$UNFI is still a HOLD for me.
Q3 was solid—sales $8.06B, EBITDA +21%, $119M FCF, leverage down to 3.3x.
Network cleanup & automation help, but thin margins & customer concentration cap upside. Progress is real, but I’m staying HOLD until margins improve.
$WMT follow-up: Sales strong (+4.8% to $177.4B; e-comm +25%) and raised FY outlook, but EPS missed ($0.68) as tariffs + self-insured costs bit. Upper-income comps led, but pricing power vs elasticity is the test. At a rich multiple “good” isn’t enough. I stay cautious.
#stocks
Asked if I’m still bullish on $WMT? Nope.
At ~45x earnings there’s no margin for error. Tariffs are a real-time elasticity test; push prices and risk unit slowdown + markdowns. Premium multiple needs flawless ads/membership/automation. Good isn’t enough now—I’m on the sidelines.
