My latest reporting follows a brave young woman named Taylor Cadle. In 2016, as a 12-yr-old, she tried to report to the Polk County Sheriff’s Dept that her adoptive father had sexually abused her. A detective called her a liar and sought criminal charges.

Every time I hear the train horn over in Goose Creek it makes me sad. I used to hear that horn over a phone for a year, and when I moved here to be with her, it was a nice reminder that hearing the horn in person meant I was there with her. Now it's a daily reminder of how I failed her.
