My dream job would be a researcher for a YouTube channel or podcast. I am so good at finding information. I once found a student film from a Maine college in the 90’s based off a friend saying they saw it at a VHS rental store. I actually gave a copy to the director of the film, who didn’t have it.
Is this extra funny in the context of me, not ten minutes earlier, referencing The Castle Doctorine from Jason Rohrer? Maybe.
Guy in my book club last night apologized for “obscure references,” and then proceeded to incorrectly describe a pivotal moment from Werner Herzog’s Grizzly Man.
Book 61

Kei x Yaku Bound by Law Volume 2 by Yoshie Kaoruhara

A yakuza and a Iawman continue their partnership to find a murderer.
This is only my second Palahniuk and only the first I’ve read since high school.
Book 60

Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk

A man discovers that crib death - and more - is caused by a secret nursery rhyme. He then uses it to kill everyone around him and a road trip with a witch, her scam artist boyfriend and a realtor ensues.
Why is it vaguely sports themed
Right now it’s like, an expensive furniture store, a truly expansive comics store, a monthly reptile expo and a nerf arena
It is available through my Libby app right now, so maybe Audible and library exclusive?
I think the movie theater is still there?
There are only like…four stores in this entire mall.
Pittsburgh Mills mall may be the weirdest dead mall I’ve ever been in because it doesn’t seem like anyone informed the mall it was dead.
Me: the state of alternative controls game preservation is terrible
Them: where’s your project at?
I’ve been watching some horror movies in the lead up to the season, so here’s my #LastFourWatched for #LetterboxdFriday
A conservator told me that artists are the worst at taking care of their art and I informed her that my one piece of internationally touring art - that I am best known for - is currently wrapped in a trash bag in my garage, the only place with termite damage in my house.
me: (meeting a coworker whose other job is a conservator) yes, lovely to meet you, do you have a hookup for bible paper?
them: uh what
me: bible paper? or encyclopedia. I could probably do yellow pages.
them: no?
me:...
them: I can ask my conservator group chat?
The only reason to go to a conference in DC is the Filipino restaurant Purple Patch, which is why I go to a convention every year in DC.
The funniest part of fanbinding is sometimes you're like "oh I need like a ream of bible paper to make this project a reality" and then realize it's shockingly hard to buy bible paper but you're too far in now.
A weird thing about my job is that Halloween is probably our busiest season.
Sitting on the ground outside a Home Depot for 30 minutes really reinforces how hostile the US is to pedestrians.
Love to open at work and be like “wow, this is trashed, no one did closing right” and then check the schedule to see that it was your supervisor who closed
As someone who has handed out like, nutrigrain bars before for Halloween some kids are weirdly psyched about it, also.
I've seen a few people talk about handing out candy but also handing out ramen - shelf stable, easy to grab in bulk.
