Im feeling ok in myself at the moment but still very good at sleeping. Mango, my cat, is getting a wee bit bored with my lack of activity, I can still chase her but thought it best not to throw things for her to chase, whilst swelling still so pronounced.
Completed Breast Cancer Self Portrait number 10

This shows hte day I removed the dressing after my operation to remove the lump and also for some nodes to be removed and tested, I get the results of the node biopsies on the 21st October.
I
They said it was ok but I was probably doing a wee bit too much which was why it had swollen but it wasnt so swollen it needed draining. So Ive been advised to stick to the physio Ive been given and only do very gentle yoga if Im going to do yoga.

WIP partially painted Cancer portrait number 10. This is from when I took the dressing off, 5 days after the operation on the 1st of October. so its now 18 days after my operation. I visited the hospital for me to check the wound yesterday as it seems to have swollen up more.
and I seem to be more swollen than I was so I have an appointment at the hospital to have the wound checked, at 2.30 today as I might have a seroma I think its called, it might need draining. which is excessive fluid on the wound.

WIP Cancer Portrait No 10. This is from when I took the dressing off which was 5 days after the operation on the 26th September. As you can see there is some bruising and swelling. Im now on day 16 after the operation and have phoned up MacMillan as my wound isnt healing well at the top
2. But if its still shown no improvement by Monday Ill phone up the MacMillan nurse and ask for advice. Im continuing with my physio and need to start massaging my arm of a night again to help avoid lymphodema as Ive been a bit lazy with that the past could of nights!

1. Currently my wound seems to be having difficulty healing on the top half, Im not sure if this is because of teh support bra rubbing on that part of the wound. I have tried adjusting the strap a few days ago so hopefully the edge of the bra is no longer rubbing on the wound.
WIP Line drawing of Cancer Portrait 10 I think this is? I am now 2 weeks since my operation, but this drawing is from 5 days after my operation, when I took the dressing off from the wound. This shows some of the very dark bruising I had from the wound and also some of the paler bruising.

2. as the edge of the bra under the arm, was rubbing on the scar and aggravating it! So Have altered that and made it higher so hopefully the top of the scar will get a chance to heal better as the bottom of it is doing pretty well.

1. which is on the other side of my kitchen, the kitchen wall joins onto the bedroom wall, so as you can imagine, its not ideal environment for migraine! But apart from migraine am doing ok recovering from op. I had to adjust my support bra as the top of my scar wasnt healing
Completed Cancer Portrait No 9 from day of return from hospital with the dressing over the surgery site where the tumour has been removed and some sentinel nodes. Today I have another migraine and I think next door are drilling and demolishing the party wall
3. that I get away with out having one. Im actually feeling ok mentally at the moment and have a pretty positive outlook that all will be well. so thats good. I think its because, compared with my operation for esophageal cancer and the treatment for that too. This is not making me feel
2. directly behind my bedhead! Have taken meds so will be spending a lot of today resting. Physio is going well and I can do all the stretches to help not got a frozen shoulder following hte surgery, which is apparently very common. Im prone to frozen shoulders so hope
1. I think teh support bras I bought are rubbing on the top of the scar, which isnt helping. Ive took the strap off and folded the top of it down to hopefully avoid the rubbing and help it heal. Today I have a migraine so have taken meds for that. Not helped by the drilling in the party wall
WIP - Cancer Portrait No 9. This is from my first day home after operation in hospital on Friday the 26th. I still have my hospital tags on. Today is day 11 I think, after the operation. The bottom half of my scar looks pretty much healed, but the top half is looking sore,
2. Ive got a feeling that all will be ok. but obviously still worried as dont have proof either way until the tests are done!! I get the results on the 21st of October and what my treatment plan will be going forward. Im on day 9 after my surgery now and still very good at sleeping!
1.
Ive been getting a tad anxious about what the test results will be for my sentinel nodes that they removed at my breast cancer surgery, as they will be biopsying them to see if they are cancerous or not, and if they are, I will be requiring a further operation and more nodes removing.
