I AM BEGGING ANYONE TO TAKE COUNCIL FUNDING SERIOUSLY. Seriously, wring some answers from the greens or YourParty.rar.exe whenever it becomes a real boy.

And also not to fall for "Pride in Place" nonsense Labour PR stunts: www.podbean.com/ea/pb-jhsdx-...

The Labour Government is bringing back family services to our communities, with £221,184 of investment for Gloucestershire.

Every child in the Forest of Dean deserves the best start in life, and under this Labour Government, we’re making that happen.

In 2004, Parisian police were conducting a training exercise in the french catacombs and found, after moving past a desk and a tape playing audio of snarling dogs, a fully functional movie theater and bar. When they returned 3 days later, the equipment was gone, with a note: “Do not try to find us.”
Members of the force's sports squad, responsible
- among other tasks - for policing the 170 miles of tunnels, caves, galleries and catacombs that underlie large parts of Paris, stumbled on the complex while on a training exercise beneath the Palais de Chaillot, across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.
After entering the network through a drain next to the Trocadero, the officers came across a tarpaulin marked: Building site, No access.
Behind that, a tunnel held a desk and a closed-circuit TV camera set to automatically record images of anyone passing. The mechanism also triggered a tape of dogs barking, "clearly designed to frighten people off," the spokesman said.
Further along, the tunnel opened into a vast 400 sq metre cave some 18m underground, "like an underground amphitheatre, with terraces cut into the rock and chairs". There the police found a full-sized cinema screen, projection equipment, and tapes of a wide variety of films, including 1950s film noir classics and more recent thrillers. None of the films were banned or even offensive, the spokesman said.
A smaller cave next door had been turned into an informal restaurant and bar. "There were bottles of whisky and other spirits behind a bar, tables and chairs, a pressure-cooker for making couscous," the spokesman said.
"The whole thing ran off a professionally installed electricity system and there were at least three phone lines down there."
Three days later, when the police returned accompanied by experts from the French electricity board to see where the power was coming from, the phone and electricity lines had been cut and a note was lying in the middle of the floor: "Do not," it said, "try to find us."

"don't participate in any business decision involving a company for which your spouse of a member of your family works" huh, weird

doing my mandatory code of conduct training, including conflicts of interest, for work, and thinking about how this trivially obvious stuff is apparently unconscionable idealism to expect from a governing party

don't bully people in the workplace? don't be outrageously corrupt? what a concept!

i've spent my entire adult life, with a 4 year exception, with choices of political parties that range from bad to worse for my own self-interest. and i'm hardly at the sharper end of british society!

becoming a landlord makes you, if you weren't already, a massive authoritarian baby who wails on the ground clutching your leg whenever someone suggests that maybe landlords have been living a bit high on the hog
ballistari.bsky.social
seeing landlords whining about the green party committment to the abolition of them is so stupid. every single other party is a party for fucking landlords! liberal democracy, supposedly, reflects the views of the public. but fuck that i'm a landlord so i demand a total lock on every avenue of life

image of a soft drink dispenser with a note that reads "want coca-cola classic? it's one glass only. based on new government laws, we've had to limit coca-cola classic to one glass per customer. still thirsty? help yourself to our low-sugar fizzy bottomless soft drinks"

This reminds that I had intended to compose a new, much more appropriate national anthem and call it “Welcome To Britain (Toilets Are For Paying Customers Only)”
