Some ancient art I did for Aeryn and Saif on a train. Part of a project called "In the Black"

Seated in a booth on a train is Aeryn and Saif. Aeryn is on the rightside and dressed in a black pin-stripe suit. She has a red tie and and an gauntlet along her right arm covered in arcane markings. She's resting her right leg over her prosthetic left leg.

Saif is on the left side of the booth, he is a large bird-like man with a blue coat of feathers. He has a beaked nose and talons for arms and legs. He is wearing a tan suit that has no sleaves so his wings can fit through. He looks at Aeryn with a grin and says: "Told you you wouldn't like it."

The train is warm, with wooden paneling and brown-leather seats.

I originally drew it in this piece while I was watching a documentary on them. I drew it way too short though. I initially wanted them to be somewhere between the size of a camel and an elephant. A big hardy mount.

Vel sits asleep along a riverbank. His book fall off his lap. Zarina places a flower on his shoulder while playfully hiding behind a tree. A dolmar sips from the shore.

She is an older woman wearing a mages' cloak based of Inuit parka lined in traditional wolverine fur. It is a pale blue in colour with a diamond snowflake like pattern embroidered into it. Across her chest is a necklace of bones sharpened like daggers. She wears a headdress of whale finger bones that cover her face like a veil.
In one hand she holds a staff that is made from a variety of bones, including a narwhal tusk and a polar bear skull. Inside the polar bear skull a icy blue crystal juts forth.
