my headcanon is that the pokemon world is just really supportive of little kids so they hype them hella up whenever they do anything. its even safe for em to travel the world unsupervised! sometimes one of them comes back with the personification of an element or god in tow, it just happens

sadly i don’t see crossovers going away since they seem hugely popular at the moment. best thing to hope for is that they dilute the game so much that it eventually drives people off so wotc realise their core is gone and makes efforts to recapture it
