The state library system of Hawaii has banned "banned" books displays, enforcing the phrase "freedom to read." Of course, we like that phrase too, but used without context it obscures the problem. You can't win a fight by pretending there isn't a fight

Talk to people. Also get like minded friends and go on the local chat boards in the area. Be respectful, but use it to reach people that read, but don't interact as much. There will be people that vehemently argue against you, but stay on topic & use personal examples. Change their echo chamber.

A coalition of writers, illustrators, editors & other book creators, standing united against the unconstitutional movement to limit the freedom to read. We support the availability of diverse voices in our libraries, in our schools, & in our culture.
