So grateful for the wonderful Kate Fagan, who was my partner-in- literature when I was the Cultural Strategist at City of Parramatta and creating the Laureate in Literature program.
It was hugely challenging and incredibly rewarding to create this opportunity for a writer.

Are we discussing the latest new Australian play?
Are we engaging with questions of philosophy?
Or
are we talking about real estate and growing wealth?

I've learnt a lot about publishing and the industry thanks to the magical @thebooksdesk.bsky.social, writers fees and the editorial process from Nick Tapper at Giramondo! it's been a steep and interesting learning curve. I'm grateful to have had the chance to tinker under the hood of Oz Publishing.

A few thoughts about the NYT critics shakeup: Theater is one of the hardest of all disciplines to cover as a critic (or reporter). You need to know its language and history. And there's a ton you can and should do to educate yourself. But you can never "catch up." You can't see what you didn't see.>
