This Tumblr user summarizes something I've been feeling/doing lately. Against everything going on, it somehow feels helpful.

Small talk isn't to get to know a person. It's just a greeting to affirm you're buddies in the universe. I am motivated by wanting the other person to know I am friendly, so I have gotten pretty decent at small tall when I used to hate it.

yes, or perhaps if agent provacateur had not infiltrated the crowds at the WTO/N99 protests

i have mixed feelings about spiking trees ( that shit kills loggers, and we do still need wood) and magic-think that hurts the environment more (releasing minks from farms) but thats another tangent...

People who fly in private jets, or who are waiting for some Biblical "End Times", or both, don't care if common folk suffer or starve, regardless of how we vote. Tis stopped being "politics as usual" years when Russ Vought and the Trust Fund Pedo Club got involved.

my scariest one was some dingus trying to jackrabbit across the 12 from one of the BF side roads in the 60 mile an hour stretch just past Summit.

I was the only other car for miles fortunately so i just swerved around them as they hit the brakes and not get tboned

i attended a wedding reception i was mildly concerned i wouldnt know anyone but the bride and groom or like, i'd have some bad blood with some folks from when i fell out with one of my old scenes, but no. Lots of actual friends and genuine adults. I'm grateful, really. I needed that, glad i made it

since i work weekends, i basically never drive on weekend nights anymore

narrowly avoided 3 collisions on my way home... didnt even need my red bull to stay awake and i am happy to have a tranq script at home

were there always this many entirely wasted people driving at night on the 5 and 101?
