I feel doomy today.

I think I need to start a Patreon. It feels super pretentious and ego-centric to put that out there, especially right now. But also I think I would be better able to serve my family and community if I were less desperate for creative time/space...things to think about

A friend of mine in Chicago just shared a video on IG of an ICE operation near her house. The operation happened just minutes before the neighborhood Halloween parade. ICE used tear gas and multiple parents had to wash their kids' (including toddlers) eyes out.

I have a weird obsession with hands in Renaissance art... I'm always looking for hands to use for drawing references, but I usually end up doing these screen tone edits of them...I guess it makes me feel a little better to do something cool with it, since I still can't draw hands 🙃

This is really not good. It's so not good in fact, that I feel I owe you an apology for making you see it...but I feel better for having done it (the drawing, and the posting, and I guess the forcing too). I never ever get past that 'ugly first draft' stage of things most of the time...
