Commission for Patroclus! It’s pretty rare to see Ryan nervous about anything, but don't worry, Nes has his back! 🦝🦘

This weekend was truly incredible, and made even better by the amazing charity this was all done in support of.

I think speedrunning will now be permanently part of my life. I now have several games listed out that I want to learn one day, and I’m really excited to keep grinding :3 8/9

And then Fall Fest came along! The Hotfix on Friday was a massive help in getting all my nerves in check, which made my run on Saturday something I’ll honestly remember forever. It went way better than I ever expected it to go (and I got this meme out of it, thank you @kergiby.bsky.social haha). 7/9

The grind continued for several weeks, and then I got invited to run in a GDQ Hotfix the day before my Fastest Furs run?? If I told my younger self that I’d be doing a speedrun on the official GDQ Twitch channel one day, he would be in awe and wouldn’t believe me lmao. 6/9

And with some encouragement from some friends, most notably @musiquil.bsky.social and @solisthewolf.bsky.social, I submitted and got accepted! At this point, my run was becoming second-nature and I was learning so much about the game that I could talk for hours on end about all of its quirks. 5/9

In that time I found Fastest Furs. I knew about charity marathons for a long while and I had great memories of watching GDQ years ago. After getting some times I was pretty happy with in Any%, I considered submitting for Fall Fest and also started learning the All Collectibles category. 4/9

Learning the routes, practicing, and cleaning up each split was so much fun. I couldn’t stop coming back to it because, at a time of my life where I was going through a lot both physically and mentally, learning this speedrun was an escape. 3/9
