Had that very view a month ago.
Well it may be a broadsheet but it's owned by Murdoch and its editor used to edit The Sun and is a chum of Johnson. Says it all. No wonder journalistic standards have slipped.
Same for London. In the 90s I lived with in some great areas. A month's rent was maybe 20% of my salary and I had plenty left over for beer and general mayhem with friends. My daughter lives there now, her rent is around half her salary, it's a totally different experience but she still loves it.
And then we're told by populist thugs that this is the problem:
The idiot's stock response. I don't know why anyone bothers to ask him any questions at all.
As a former long term resident of London, today's post article on the economic decline of that great city was simply laughable.
London, a wonderful city, one of the greatest. I lived in Brixton for years and loved it. I now visit regularly. My daughter lives north of the river and loves it. A nonsense article from a no longer serious paper.
Small scabious on the downs outside Lewes, East Sussex. #wildflowerhour
It's pretty clear how Alito and Thomas will find but hopefully Barrett and Roberts will agree with the conclusions in these briefs however I'm not holding breath especially with regard to Roberts.
I've got a few ideas for them, stand up to bigots and racists. Stop aping Reform. Come clean about the shit show that is Brexit and apply to rejoin the CU and SM.
The Marianne North Gallery at Kew Gardens is well worth a visit.
Probably waiting to see which way the wind blew. Government following rather than leading. Pathetic.
Surely there is some kind of planning policy in DC that needs to be obtained before any work to such a historic building and gardens. Surely it can't have been sought or given. Trump needs to be made for the restoration of both.
So true. The planning hurdles here in the UK for such work would be almost insurmountable and doing this without the proper permissions would be highly illegal. Punishment could range from imprisonment to having to foot the bill for brick by brick restoration. Or both.
In the UK without planning permission on such an important building (unlikely to be given in this case) those responsible would be in deep shit and may end up behind bars or having to foot the bill for making good any damage caused or both.
On rare occasions (too rare) people who have run roughshod over such regulations have had to return buildings to their former state at their own expense, this includes completely rebuilding if demolished. Trump should be made to do this out of his own pocket.
In the UK this would be a 'listed' building. Grade 1 probably for its historical importance, even changing the window frames would require jumping all sorts of regulatory hurdles and there's no guarantee that any permission would be granted.
It's insane that he can do this. It's not his property. Surely there are laws against this especially when it comes to historic buildings. This alone should have him put in prison.
Nor is it surprising. Surely other supposed allies are doing the same or at least thinking long and hard about sharing sensitive information with the US. I mean why share anything about Russia when Trump is so obviously putty in Putin's hands.
It's a great series. Work takes me across the south east and I've been listening while driving. Currently on the crusader episode. Fascinating and really enlightening.
Drug runners or merely fishermen trying to make a living...?
Doesn't it just. Reminds me of the occasional gobby idiot I've worked with in the past. I always think to myself, 'do your friends, if you have any, know what a wanker you are to your colleagues?'
Anna Funder's wonderful book Stasiland is incredibly enlightening with regard to the Stasi.
