I don't understand. YOU want all those servers and cooks to strike! They wouldn't be getting paid either way!

We can do wider boycotts. More companies, or target specific product chains, connect people with ethical alternatives, etc.

In the long run yes, but the rich are ao rich now that I don't think most workers can outlast them in a strike. Have to reduce their resources and increase ours, or it will be a humiliating loss when they replace workers with millions of imprisoned/enslaved scabs (ICE detainees).

Yes I agree with bigger and louder boycotts. I think this is a more accessible form of protest than striking, especially
for working-class people. We don't all have homes bought and paid for, or savings accounts (lol) to draw on.

Those athletes are probably mostly apolitical or MAGA. Nobody is going to pay for this. People will have to self-fund a national general strike, and I just don't think enough people can afford it. Those stadiums are full of people who COULD afford to take the day off, but that isn't enough to win.

How can tens of millions of people just stop working and live without pay, for an unknowable length of time? Bills still have to be paid, families still need to be supported. National boycotts are more practical than a general strike, IMO.

I think the brain subconsciously contructs different mental models of reality from the sensory data we pull in each day, and automatically discards most of them as the models we act on get further reinforcement. Some of the files discarded get randomly flagged for personal review before deletion.

I'm not saying the principle is wrong. I just don't think it's practical.

Many would have to quit striking after a week because they can't afford rent or food. The rich and powerful can wait us out much longer unless we use violence. But if we were willing to use violence, why even strike at all??
