Yeah and it offloaded the work to the Xbox, which meant games all looked like, well, Wii games.

To be fair to Kinect, I think the past time I jumped for any reason was playing Kinect Adventures.
As @gruber.foo would say, they’re holding the price point for the replacement 😄 Like that trashcan Mac Pro they didn’t upgrade for years that still cost $5000 or something.
We all live in Revachol now, baby.
Also, who wants to make a bet that Apple won’t update the Simulator to work (support multitouch) on touch enabled Macs?
@liss.bsky.social I used to work on Point of Sale software for touchscreen terminals like this one and everyone, everyone, would inevitably touch the regular CRT monitor on their development PC expecting it to work.
So much nicer than my (former) copy. Don’t store your games in the shed, people.
This is so much nicer than the subscriber cover! Is it just me?
Amd, boy, did it get off to a rough start. So much moping. My abiding memory of that first episode was Swedish Robocop drowning his sorrows at the Outpost. Thankfully, the show really took off (lol) later on and is now one of my favourite shows on AppleTV.
Which is a long way of saying I needed more ultra shrooms, but there’s no way to go back to a shop and get some. And no way to load a previous save.
Well, I gave up and watched the ending on YouTube. The fundamental problem, as I see it, is this game is like a Sierra adventure game. It lets you continue even though you totally missed an inventory item on the second screen, completely dead ending yourself without realising it.
I’ve been using them for far too long and I’m pretty sure the dispenser used to work fine back in the 90s. Now they are so cheap they just chew up the tablets instead of dispensing them.
Why does nobody talk about the enshittification of Canderel dispensers?
Not “PC”, “Device”.
How can anyone recommend this game?! The final boss fight absolutely ruins it. But I guess that’s all games. Go out making sure the player absolutely fucking hates you.
I should say, I’m enjoying myself despite my moans. The writing on the terminals and in various descriptions is the usual top notch @obsidianent.bsky.social writing I love.
And @oliemack.bsky.social is not wrong about the frame rate on PS5. Also, is the mini-map running at half frame rate? It makes me feel a little queazy if I watch it while I turn my character around.
I was going to say The Hateful Eight, but then I read Stargate and now I’m conflicted. I love Stargate. I saw it twice in theatres… but Kurt Russell’s O’Neil isn’t even my favourite O’Neill. Whereas he is absolutely compelling in Hateful Eight.
Carrying a CRT and tower up two flights of stairs wasn’t fun, but it was worth it!
I’ve really enjoyed Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, but this final boss fight commits the cardinal sin of mixing a fight with an unskippable cutscene. TWO, in fact. Ruined the game. What a shame.
