Ja. Das ist so ein bauliches Konstrukt, das die eine Seite vom Brand auf der anderen Seite schützt.
Die Frage ist nur, ob jemand einem die Tür aufhält und genug Zeit bleibt, es schnell genug auf die sichere Seite zu schaffen; oder ob man elendig verbrennt.

Wird auch gern in der Politik verwendet.
