Joined Living Rent at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 office to stand up for Whitehill Pool 🏊‍♂️

It's time both Governments give Whitehill Pool the capital investment it needs to return a pool to Dennistoun, so the East End can feel an actual legacy from the Commonwealth Games 💚

Joani Reid once again betrays her party & family's historic values

The Home Office are in charge of accom. & Glasgow's been a dispersal city since the 90s.

She just wants to lie & blame them to look good for Reform, not tackle actual problems.

Reid is a stain on Scotland & Jimmy Reid's legacy.
I think the lighting will be fixed quicker than the pool, it's just that if I remember from looking at the plans of the building, basically the wirings baked into the wall fillings, so is what complicates the fix. Still we should hopefully see that done & will keep it on the radar to know when.
...Once we are in receipt of the costs for both options, we will look to instruct one of the work packages” (3/3)
...We are working to find a solution which will allow us to carry out the repair and have requested that our contractor provides us with a quotation to replace the lighting circuit at low level complete with new light fittings... (2/3)
Hi Daniel, ive got a response from Glasgow Life: "

Following the investigation they have established that there is a fault with the lighting circuit which is unfortunately inaccessible due to RAAC in the venue...

Not only are we at record numbers of members and growing every day - this is our highest ever poll rating.

We're just getting started.

This is the politics of the 99% Vs the 1% for a country we can all afford to live in - plenty of room to grow.

Hopefully in the short term we will see this backlog cleared, but more needs to be done to make sure we don't keep getting stuck in cycles of sickness flooring whole fleets. 💚 (6/6)
There's a wider issue on cleansing staff wellbeing we need to look at, as spot health checks showed over half of staff had issues like high blood pressure and other medical issues. We need to provide preventive medical support, ease burdens, & also seek to hire a more younger workforce. (5/6)
I've informed them of all of your streets you've told me of which have not been collected will be keeping the pressure on them to make sure that these are collected within this cycle. ✅️ (4/6
This has hit folk from Dalmarnock up to Springburn & through to Easterhouse.

So what are they going to do?

They've got extra resources from across the city to help tackle the backlog especially for recycling, & working through the current cleansing cycle (of 16 days) to get through the backlog.
Essentially, there are about 5/6 fleet's worth of staff off on sick - a much higher amount than they'd ever have off. Coupled with some changes to collections in Housing Association houses & storms, this has made a backlog of work equivalent 53 days worth of work. ❌️ (2/?)
BIN BACKLOG 🚮

Alot of folk have been getting in touch over repeated missed collections over the past few weeks - so I met with cleansing officers yesterday to get to the bottom of it. 👇

🚨 Haghill Primary surgery cancelled 🚨

Given the yellow weather storm warning, I'm cancelling tonight's Councillor surgery in Haghill Primary.

Please do give me an email at [email protected] or a call at 07795922732 instead of coming and I can help remotely.

🚨BREAKING

40 years ago Margaret Thatcher abolished rent controls in Scotland.

The Scottish Parliament just passed a Bill introduced by the Scottish Greens, which will allow them once more!

This will keep rents affordable and offer safety and stability to renters. 🙌
Rent controls passed! homes are for living in, not for profiteering.
