Ya I didn't think you actually wrote that grammatically that way. It's almost spot table, autocorrect gone wrobg, rogue, wrong

Q.7 In the mundane science fiction novel "The Child Garden" 2 concepts struck me. One was the children were all injected with a virus at age 5 that contained their total education. The second concept was the young people, when they saw Street lights, they all started dancing.

Q1. #TWSOchat Another writing routine I tried this year was "Write 52 short stories in 52 weeks, because it is really hard to write 52 Bad short stories." This has been a great help to me to keep me producing material weekly.

#TWSOchat Yes. I use Morning Pages as a brain dump to get out all my Dear Diary drivel and self-flagellation or self-reg. After a 3 pages, I am ready to start to write, to work, to use my mind to construct sentences and to choose words, that way MP's make it so my day does not interrupt my writing.

What will be really hard for me? I am sorry I don't understand your comment. Thank you for the reply though Layla Moon.

Q.5 #TWSOchat
I often have 3 notebooks going at a time, some with schedules, some with outlines, some with a course I am taking. I tried to streamline my notebooks but I gave up. I usually write the entire draft of a short story in one notebook, then I type it into my chromebook, then print it.

Q.5 #TWSOchat I write with pen and paper to start because I write in the morning and I start with 5 Gratitudes, then Morning Pages (From the Artist's Way) which is a kind of automatic writing and it is recommended it be done long hand.

Q.6. That sounds really yummy and like a good idea to stay fortified!

I know I don't read books while I am writing a book or a short story. I am completely immersed in the project and I certainly don't watch videos or movies until the evening, if and only if I have completed at least 4-5 hours. The influence of outside media is very real and I don't seek it.

No. I have 5 drafts of my novel and never have I taken long periods of time to embody a character's experience. I have written extensive back story and character sketches though as well as letters between characters. But each draft, I make an outline of what the novel is looking like and gaps show

Yes. The New York Midnight Madness contest does. Another time I entered and I was asked to write a fantasy short story that involved a betrayed friend. Again, I had never written fantasy so it was a real challenge for me.

I give myself 4-5 hours to work and then that is all I am usually able to write in a day, but if I pull off 4 to 5 hours, I am the most calm, zen like human because I have optimally performed. I learned in India Zen is dhiyan which is the meditation in our minds as we work.

Exactly. You never know what might happen. I entered the New York Midnight Madness contest and they asked me to write a ghost story with the subject fragile and a character that was a knitter. I had never written a ghost story before!

I start my routine with 5 Gratitudes, things I am thankful for, then I do 3 full pages handwritten of Morning pages, and then I look to the actual work, of a manuscript or a new short story or poem I am re-drafting.

#WritingRoutines #blueskywriters
I find a good way to establish a writing routine is to do it everyday. Some people say take the weekend off, and that might happen, but it might just be that a Wednesday gets full of meetings, so it is good I have Saturday and Sunday to also get writing complete.

I find entering contests keeps me busy with deadlines to meet and new material to generate.

And I entered three of the Federation of BC Writers' contests. Contests provide a deadline and a bit of excitement. A reason to polish an old first or second draft or even start something completely new.

I have not won, but I have entered the short story contest three times and I got a publication credit for "The Fable of Katy Wilson" which was a product of the contest. Of course there is the CBC Short Story contest. And I entered the Victoria Society of Writers' poetry contest.

One of the things I do to keep motivated is I enter contests. I started with the New York Midnight Madness Competition just because it was in my inbox and the prize was $8000 USD.

French would be great! Thank you!

Beautiful. One of my favourite organizations in Victoria is the Dandelion Society, 2 vans that drive around at 5 am distributing a cup of coffee and a cigarette, socks, blankets, tents, home made cookies, to the un-housed who sleep on the street. Love love love dandelions!

Oh tarriffs oh tradewar. This has been non-stop in the news in Canada for the last few months. It will have a huge impact, but seriously it is so boring for newsworthiness.

I look forward to reading your book. I am taking a dive into fantasy writing myself this Labour Day long weekend with Anvil Press's 3 day Novel writing contest where I hope to write 100 fantasy pages on the title: Runaway Knight. Wish me luck!

Really looking forward to the Writing Sprints tomorrow. I am working on a piece about the special kind of love for step-fathers. I hope to get a lot of work done and I am looking forward to joining TWS on Sunday!
