I had the privilege and delight to share best mathpractices with educators at Black Hawk Elementary in Kahoka, MO yesterday. A math interventionist even made me a gift bag of homemade items including a votive with pressed flowers from her garden! So grateful for these opportunities! #ITeachMath

Not YET!!! Ha!! #ElemMathChat
A5: Each s knows where they are on their journey using a strategy progression master chart in an indiv folder (no bulletin board public shame). When they go to the fluency station, they have a choice of activities CRA to explore those sets of facts. When mastered, we celebrate! #ElemMathChat
A3: I love having students play engaging games like Kaboom, Power Towers, and LCR that everyone can play but can be differentiated with the facts that are in play during the game. #ElemMathChat
A2:I have been using Math Running Records for years and it continues to be my favorite fact fluency assessment allowing me to learn about a Ss flexiblity, efficiency, accuracy, and their math disposition. Gamechanger! #ElemMathChat

Love this! This is the first time I've heard of it. #ElemMathChat
A3: I love doing routines like Number Talks/Number Strings and also Building Thinking Classrooms practices to provide lots of opportunities for Ss to think flexibly and share their thinking with each other while also modeling their thinking to make it visible for all. #ElemMathChat
And I you, my friend! #ElemMathChat
I have a slidedeck - one for each CGI problem type - that models the structure of the story with one model matching the way it is written and one that isn't so students can discuss in groups which one matches and why. I also model how the 3 Reads or Numberless WP can be done. #ElemMathChat
A2: If I had my own classroom, I would find out what activities my Ss enjoy and then would engage in routines like Numberless Word Problems, 3 Reads, Worked Examples showing models of the structure of the story, etc to engage them in problem solving and reasoning. #ElemMathChat
A1: One of my favorite activities for place value is Counting Collections using objects the students love. As they organize their collections in more efficient ways they are constructing their understanding of a place value system. #ElemMathChat
A0: I'm Ann Elise, elementary math consultant living, for now, in Concord, NH. One of my favorite activities is Steve Wyborney's Esti-Mysteries. They are always a huge hit and get students talking and thinking! #ElemMathChat
