ten toes down until iwtvtwt learns how to engage critically with the material in a way that doesn't ask writers to sanitize the characters
Oh dear…. Not the best day for a seaside trip. 😬
plus the way the train scene was played out - with Lestat ultra-cartoonish, and the fact it wasn't related to anything in Claudia's journals
True… the irony being that anything based on Anne Rice’s books will inevitably contain challenging themes.
We're seeing him interact on a different level than how he was with Louis and Armand, as a human. At the book signing, he's not happy that the Talamasca have rewritten 'his' book or the way they're watching him constantly. He's on edge, uncomfortable & coming to terms with being a vamp - which fits
too many made the mistake of thinking everyone over a certain age is cute 'grandpa/grandma' caricature of a human being... and not just an older version of what they were when younger. Daniel in the 1970s was living on the edge, he wrote subversive books, got divorced twice and doesn't take shit
Good luck! I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever it is you're studying!
Spike, ironically, was based on Lestat if played by Billy Idol ...

He's like if introversion and social anxiety had the most beautiful theater-inclined child. Bless him 😭

no worries - I think we're all the same when we post on AO3, nervous about posting and anxious for feedback... sometimes it's best to seek a distraction for a few hours.
I do owe a comment! So that’s one.
Tbh there’s so many kinktober fics posted that it’s easy for people to miss updates on multi chapter fics. Your kudos count is really good, so just hang in there.
But lack of reader response can be a downer, it’s why I’m not posting any IWTV fics at all for now
Ben was good, the guy playing Judas was brilliant, but imo John Legend was weak in the role of Jesus
Ironically the role played by Ben Daniels in the televised version with John Legend
Cute comment that they'd prefer 4 seasons of IWTV/TVL to half a season of MW!
there have been a few like that recently where I've got 4 letters right and then there are several options
Neither did I, I had to look it up. It’s not surprising we didn’t know considering its quite a specific cultural reference
"Hang in there" ... I said, drinking an alcohol free beer 😬
One step at a time, one day at a time. You'll catch up again and it will mean all the more

It's not erasing progress - it was progress up to a point. Next time, push to go further. Progress is being honest with yourself.
πŸ«‚as a fellow recovering alcoholic, Iβ€˜d advise restarting your count. Otherwise it will become too tempting to have more β€˜breaks’ from sobriety. Most programs say you should. Some of us just can’t risk starting again. Alcohol messes with judgement and it’s too easy to think 1 little drink won’t hurt
That's sort of my point really - also 'granddad' or 'grandma' has been used as an insult against older people regardless of whether or not they are a grandparent.
I understand the fandom use it affectionately towards Eric and I imagine the majority are (considerably) younger than he is, so I get it
restricting calories works, but it can be a bit miserable - good luck ❀️
well done! hopefully being able to be more active will really make a difference to you now

I gained 10kg from the first covid lockdown to now. Trying to lose it, so far managed about 2kg in the past few weeks ... comfort eating is my enemy. However now I'm hypertensive I've got added incentive 😬
I've found that as I've got older, becoming defined by status as parent or grandparent has made me feel more and more uncomfortable. Perspective changes with age I guess.
It's the converse of older people looking at anyone younger than themselves as 'kids'.
