IWTV: Louis called Daniel to redo his story fifty years later because he's still deep in his trauma

iwtvtwt: wow daniel betrayed louis because louis never expected him to publish that book and daniel was just exploiting his dead daughter

me and everyone else with media literacy: sure...yeah...louis never expected him to publish despite knowing how the cloud works and getting sent an ARC and being fully capable of killing daniel if he really felt like it but he wouldn't because that's his only friend.

they're all deeply fucked up but saying daniel exploited claudia when his biggest crime against claudia was wanting to hear her story from her own words is just watching the show with your fingers in your ears going LALALALALA. is daniel insensitive? maybe. exploitative? bsffr.

We're seeing him interact on a different level than how he was with Louis and Armand, as a human. At the book signing, he's not happy that the Talamasca have rewritten 'his' book or the way they're watching him constantly. He's on edge, uncomfortable & coming to terms with being a vamp - which fits

too many made the mistake of thinking everyone over a certain age is cute 'grandpa/grandma' caricature of a human being... and not just an older version of what they were when younger. Daniel in the 1970s was living on the edge, he wrote subversive books, got divorced twice and doesn't take shit

Tbh there’s so many kinktober fics posted that it’s easy for people to miss updates on multi chapter fics. Your kudos count is really good, so just hang in there.
But lack of reader response can be a downer, it’s why I’m not posting any IWTV fics at all for now

🫂as a fellow recovering alcoholic, I‘d advise restarting your count. Otherwise it will become too tempting to have more ‘breaks’ from sobriety. Most programs say you should. Some of us just can’t risk starting again. Alcohol messes with judgement and it’s too easy to think 1 little drink won’t hurt

That's sort of my point really - also 'granddad' or 'grandma' has been used as an insult against older people regardless of whether or not they are a grandparent.
I understand the fandom use it affectionately towards Eric and I imagine the majority are (considerably) younger than he is, so I get it

I gained 10kg from the first covid lockdown to now. Trying to lose it, so far managed about 2kg in the past few weeks ... comfort eating is my enemy. However now I'm hypertensive I've got added incentive 😬

I've found that as I've got older, becoming defined by status as parent or grandparent has made me feel more and more uncomfortable. Perspective changes with age I guess.
It's the converse of older people looking at anyone younger than themselves as 'kids'.
