Hey #portfolioday! I'm a #KidLit book designer by day and an illustrator by rest-of-the-day savoring any chance they can get to make personal art :') Love drawing lots of details, academic art, and costumed ladies ✨
A vibrantly colorful digital illustration of Kouyou, Kyouka, her Demon Snow avatar, and Yosano from Bungo Stray Dogs drawn as the regal beauties in traditional Chinese femme costume after the painting "Lingering Melodies from the Xunyang River" by Chen Yifei. The additional background is also very ornate, with a mother-of-pearl inlaid cabinet topped with a golden portrait of a woman based on a Singer Sargent painting. There is a richly decorated Islamic-floral motif style tile pattern runs across the top of the scene. Yosano is holding a fan that says "Rattle, Rattle, Rattle!" Kyouka is sitting on the floor petting the head of a white cat, and instead of the rabbit charm she wears around her neck, is wearing a dragon charm that looks like a certain wizzard lizzard. The colors are primarily pink, blue, white and red. Yosano's outfit is decorated in a way that suggested the Trans Pride flag. She has an added mole to the right side of her face. A super detailed digital illustration showing an interior courtyard scene based off of the architecture of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s courtyard arches and ornament, broken up into different sections arranged in non-linear and isometric perspective (sort of in the tradition of Persian and SE Asian miniature painting). Various femme human figures of different sizes and colors (natural white and brown skin tones but also colored blue and red) are scattered around this space- they are all based off of women from different paintings within the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Gardner Museum (including John Singer Sargent’s El Jaleo, who here is dressed in a way that references the character design of Jolyne Cujoh). In the bottom left, electric blue tigers race under arches in a starry-void space. At the top right, a mysterious woman stands under a painting with aa living parrot, and next to an another parrot on a chair. She is standing upon a coil of thread that weaves throughout the painting, and terminates in a box at bottom left which is guarded by a fancily dressed woman in parrot couture costume, in a miniature “room” with different paintings of other woman, and a mirror that reflects a color field of pink, blue and white. A pink nude woman is seated above on a fabric drape that flows down from a red woman above her who is holding a flower looking out from an ornamented arch. At center is a large blue woman who is smelling a stand of roses, while below her is a smaller ballerina doing up her flats on marble stairs. An outdoor nighttime scene set in a back alleyway mixed-with-a traditional Chinese garden pavilion where multiple characters from the Final Fantasy video game series are gathered around in a little garden courtyard surrounded by houses and walls. In the grass yard sits an ornate, classical American style table holding a blue-gold tea pot and cup set, along with chairs, and a small, green-marble topped side table that’s holding two vases with flowers and a blue-gold pitcher. Behind the furniture and courtyard rise tall, white birch trees. In the background close by is the tall side of a house with an open lit window and hanging laundry on the roof top above. Set into the house wall is an open window through which a cute FF9-style Moogle peeps through. In the further left background is a classic-Chinese style covered pavilion, with curved titles and green-red lacquer sides. Standing by, and sitting at (or on) the table, in the left foreground are Beatrix, Freya and Eiko (who is trying to read a book) (FF9), along with Terra (FF6), Fang (FF13), Rydia (FF4) and Fran (FF12), the three of whom are sat close together, shoulders touching in deep gossip/discussion. To the left, by the courtyard wall and entrance is Garnet/Dagger (FF9) who is sitting by herself on an ornate bench seat cradling a cat in one arm while Yuna (FF10) is stepping through the courtyard entrance, right arm outstretched and mid-saying something. Another orange cat is strolling across the grass in-between both groups. The scene implies that there is both lively discussion and leisurely resting amongst all the different parties, with the fun for the viewer getting to see all these different game characters together in one scene. The art style is based on clean, thin line art with solid, bright colors composed in a muted, yellow tinge since it is nighttime. Above the characters heads are little dark boxes with colorful gold-green borders with colorful bars displayed within, like video game status bars.
Photo of an imaginary book cover for a novel titled “Big Fig Wasp.” The cover art depicts a "main character,” which is a self-portrait of myself femme presenting, and dolled up with ribbons and jewelry and sitting on an iridescent pedestal while a mysterious, color-chromatic webbed-hole emerges from my torso as my gloved hand pulls it open. A shadow figure wrapped by a glowing dragon-creature is coming into being in an ornate mirror behind me in the top right corner. At the bottom-left foot of the pedestal if a black-panther dressed in an ornamental harness. Flower decorations and ornament patterns accent the bottom and other corners of the cover. The type is painted in iridescent colors and come in and out of focus.

Willingly used perspective 😔✨
Screen capture of an in progress drawing on Procreate of a fantasy scene in a ruined hall with a fountain and Greek columns, based on the indoor courtyard of the Frick Museum. A regal seated lady and her attendants gaze out at a floating, nude archangelic-like figure with a gut-halo bearing a heart in their hand while a mysterious woman with a bleeding eye and crescent moon head piece gazes out at the viewer in the front, from behind a column.

A fun commission for Jerez about an architect building a maze.
a commission piece about an architect building a maze made of buildings and sculptures inspired by different cultures. The artwork is vertical but can be viewed from any angle. The character is standing in the archway with a scepter. She has bright red hair and wears a white dress. The arch in the foreground is decorated with patterns and tiles. The maze shows a big range of buildings overlapping with each other and some sculptures. There are spiders made of jewels in the corners of the illustration.

Nonagon infinity opens the door ❤️‍🔥🪄✨
A hyper-colorful, chromatic fantasy scene divided into three panels. The middle panel depicts a group of angelic sorceresses with staff and sword appeasing a large fire goddess in a landscape embedded with swords and crumbling runes with mosaic and pattern decorations while a waterfall in canyon rift cuts through the landscape. A 4th sorceress in the middle activates a runinc-stone structure while a girl in a blazing fireball descends from the sky above. A modernly dressed femme character sits in the foreground sketching in a book. On the flanking side panels are depictions of the Moon and Sun rendered as a transfemme and transmasc human persona respectively. The Moon presides over a sword embedded into the rocky landscape that conjures a pouring out of blood, and the Sun is sipping from an overflowing goblet while at their feet is a decorated ceramic urn-vase emiting a magical glow. Flowing throughout the landscape and connecting the panels is a kind of amorphous dragon creature with sparkles inside its liquid magma body.
