So excited for them to be out!
I have 9 new poems in @bryanborland.bsky.social’s revival of Assaracus! 😈⛓️
One stripe for you, two stripes for me 😋
A student hit on me while I was in the work bathroom washing my lunch dishes, and I think it was an experience we’d both like to take back.
A memoir essay of mine has found a home with Aesterion!

“About how she does coke. About how it tastes like salt. About how you can get seizures from doing it. About how she could die. About how she could die. About how she could die. About how she could die.”

Relieved the evangelicals will be gone today for the sake of the housing crisis. Affordable housing is upon us!

October 18 is going to be the largest peaceful protest in American history. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave — but if we want to be free, then we’ve got to be brave. Find your local event: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i... #NoKings

Everything is bad, but books are good. Get a book. Read the book. Cherish the book. Finish the book. Tell your friends about the book, and leave a review of the book. Hold the book close. Listen to what it tells you. Do as it commands. Place it on the dread altar and let it guide your every choice.
VA state employees received this email in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death. Did you in other states receive something similar?
The homosexual urge to talk to female colleagues like we’ve been besties for years.
At dinner last night my Cap bf asked me what my goals are for the rest of the year.

Building Assaracus Issue 26, the return issue of our journal of #gaypoetry & #queerpoetry

My philosophy:

IF YOU ARE NOT QUEER / QUEER #POETRY IS NOT YOUR SAFE SPACE / YOU ARE STILL WELCOME
BUT YOUR COMFORT IS NOT OUR PRIORITY / OUR SURVIVAL IS

Disturb / Enrapture

Coming in October.

“The history of #art, whether it's in #music or written or what have you, has always been bloody, because dictators and people in office and people who want to control and deceive know exactly the people who will disturb their plans.” (2/3) #poetry #film #booksky
My job as instructional designer is to ensure the faculty at my institution feel as comfortable and as equipped as possible, especially when education changed so drastically in the last 5 years!
Don’t know if any of you academics on here know that Instructure (Canvas LMS) made a global partnership with OpenAI. You can create assessment in which students can engage with LLM.

Faculty at large already struggle with AI in the online classroom. Call your CETL office for help! 😬
It’s like we truly have nothing but ourselves.
Was informed by my closest friends I’m not “nice” ???
That to say, I’ve had a few very wonderful interactions with agents as well. Two referrals and another from SLL who reached out to me. One of them almost took me! 🤭

But good lord this industry!!
I’ve been referred to numerous agents by friends. All the agents responded, but clearly only half of them actually read the pages they requested.

An agent who actually pursued me admitted to not reading my work.
The more I hear about friends’ experience with literary agents, the less I want one.

Please, I’m just an organism responding to stimuli. Don’t expect too much.
Personally, I love when a novel opens with a philosophical statement about class, sisterhood, or whatever. Lay it on thick.
