I saw some calling this album repetitive but I personally didn’t feel that. The album has synnergy and cohesion but I didn’t find myself getting bored. It features both wimsy and romantic moods and balanced well. It feels succinct and doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. The vocals are a bit wispy though.
I know I’ve given the same scores 4 days in a row, but that is just how I feel about this album. The album is ripe and full but also not super challenging or dynamic. I think this has some good compositions that could serve as the basis for other music. I enjoyed it for what it is.
This album simply didn’t feel very original to me. The lyrics weren’t very interesting but there were some interesting chord progressions. There were a few songs that I did enjoy but this doesn’t feel like an album I’ll really be revisiting. It’s alright and a fine time but nothing much more.
There are a couple of standout tracks. However, for the most part it felt a bit generic and not super impressive vocally. However the piano was nice and I had a pleasant time listening. A promising debut and I’ll look out for her future works. Sorry for all the late posts. Tomorrow I’ll catch up.
There were some good melodies presented and I enjoyed certain moments. However, some of the enunciation was poor on some of the slower songs and it kind of took me out of it. I also felt like the lyrics were a bit simple at points. Still a good album and close to a 7.5 but missed the mark for me.
I am not super familiar with desert blues but this was an interesting introduction. There were many cool sounding ornamentations like in Dagabi that really highlight the song’s tone. I’m not 100% on the rating since it’s a new genre for me so I’ll need to listen to it more.
Many of these tracks remind me a bit of Weyes Blood which is a definite plus. This album has a good mix of upbeat songs with more lowkey ballads. The lyrics are very esoteric which allows one to percieve new meaning in a repeat listen. Overall a good and emotional time.
I was hoping this album would sound a bit different from her previous album but despite that, this is a good follow up. The music is very relaxing and pleasant and some of the songs like “Like Your Love is a Mirror”, “Vista” and “Camera” have very grand compositions and well written lyrics.

I used to be a big fan of Mitski due to her song Francis Forever and have listened to her entire discography. However, I eventually listened less and less and I never actually heard this album. This is a stark improvement on Laurel Hell and harkens back to Be the Cowboy and Bury Me at Makeout Creek.
This is another album I’ll have to listen more to before forming a concrete opinion. It doesnt really stand out too much from the other rock albums I have listened to this month for the most part. There is some interesting instrumentation and melodies though like on “Bucher’s Tale”.
