As for police etc: each lord or lady rules their chapter absolute. They decide. Not always a good thing.

Instead of ‘dance therapy,’ there was art therapy. Colored sticks–blunt-shaped, again–that felt like chalk and drew like wide pencils. I sketched a map of the rivers and mountains of western South America, the region I’d done my fieldwork in. I pointed arrows at the two undiscovered settlements I’d found with the Time Eye. Took my mind off things, and was good practice for my half-baked plan. Until one of the guys pretended to ‘slip’ and fall onto my table, drawing a long line across my paper.

I started over with a fresh page. What did I care?

Marilyn and Shaheen barged through the control room door. “Everyone out,” Marilyn called with authority. She glanced at me. “Good, Jim, you’re here. You stay.”
All we did was stare at them. Sure, Marilyn was ultimately in charge of the Time Eye, but you did not scrub a run five minutes from initiation on anyone’s say-so. Each Viewing cost an ungodly amount of computer time in precalculations alone, leaving aside the millions of Euros in prep costs.

9-yr-old Ukrainian Sasha Paskal has won gold&bronze medals at the All-Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition "Black Sea Cup"

In the summer of 2022she was seriously injured by a Russian strike and underwent a leg amputation

“Why is it so dark?” she whimpered.
“Because Cai’s most likely shut the door and keeps watch outside.” Slowly, his eyes were adjusting. Some slivers of light fell through the cracks of the door, letting him see the outline of the girl. Her hair had come undone and tumbled around her face. He could feel her trembling.
“It’s alright, we’re back,” he tried to soothe her. “You’re ok. You’re fine.”
“No, I’m not!” she snapped. “Apparently, I just died and went to the center of time, and watched the annihilation of Nagasaki, and Woodstock, and you…” A sob broke her voice.
He rubbed her back, but she only went stiff.
“I want out,” she sniffled. And then louder, “Do you hear me? I want out!”
