I do not like how Preston & Childs give Pendergast a family with plantations and then never call them what they are. Always “planters” and never “slavers” or, so far, even any mention of slavery. Hmph.

The problem with nuzzling Sweetie is that her fur is so fine, long and soft that you end up with a nose & face full after. Worth it, but I think I’m going to have to wash my face soon. (picture from a few days ago; she’s beginning to let me rub her tummy!)
A soft and fluffy gray cat lies on her side in a gray office chair and blisses out while a human rubs her tummy. Her gigantic back feet are on display.

Oooooooh I can’t wait to see a picture of you waving the flag in your costume!

Also, fyi, I realized I’d left my glasses in the bathroom after inflation & started to walk back for them & realized I wouldn’t fit around the sofa & probably not in the hall. These things are quite large.

I think I’ll need to use pins to hold the hood on to my hair? Bc once it started inflating, the hood just kept sliding over my face and generally ballooning out.

And, as promised the inflatable Calico for an Actually Representative Govt is here. I haven’t figured out how to get the hood right yet tho. And even with the fan, it’s a bit sweaty. But for $28 & the annoyance of fascists? A total deal.
A person in an inflatable calico cat costume. The person has not figured out how to get the hood right so in this picture her face is fully blocked. On the other hand, the cat face is fully visible. The person is giving the finger to the Trump Administration with both barrels.

The owl was back tonight, this time in the back yard. Georgie was watching it, but from v close to her house. So that’s all good. The owl is smack in the middle of the photo, turned to the side & flexing its feathers a bit.
A picture of a live oak at dusk with an owl perched on a vertical branch in the center of the picture. The owl is turned slightly to the side so you can see some feathers.

Today in things that hit me at an apparently key age: I cannot see a fish head without hearing this no matter how inappropriate: youtu.be/n9TNcI7eUXY (Post brought to you by the episode of Task I’m watching)

I saw a political reporter say p much that yeah. I get that it’s easy but it does get tiring.

Bc I’m fat and I get easily winded and with allergies often breath through my mouth. But that hasn’t made me a fucking Omni-bigot.

I know this hopeless but it sure would be nice if ppl criticizing the “young” republicans could make it about their terrible beliefs and not their weight.

Thing that never stops being exciting, even 30-ish years after you’ve left Seattle: getting a text w/a picture of Mt. Rainier being out.

Padma: I certainly hope we don’t do _that_ again.

Me: nope. {under my breath} not for six months anyway when you get another dental

(Except for needing a tooth cleaning & a tendency to dirty ears, Padma is delightful & even super wiggly charmed the tech & the vet)
An orange and white cat sits on her haunches on a sunny kitchen table and stares at the camera with a piercing glare.

.7 ml of Gabapentin folks. (She is still yelling even tho we’re here & waiting for the vet)

Susan probably won’t love the liquid either, but at least once it’s down her throat, I know she won’t be able to spit it back out. And she’ll stop trying to eat all of the food that exists in the world.
amyewest.bsky.social
With Susan completely refusing the Prozac pill & the liquid not arriving until this afternoon, she back on Xanax and eating _all_ the food. Gave Sweetie a little extra just now since Susan had eaten all of the 6am food & then had to close the sunroom door so Susan wouldn’t try to crowd Sweetie out.

The possum was back, as it must have been several times lately, bc Georgie wanted to go back for more food, but she scared of it. Even after it ran away when it saw B. He said “so now I’ll have to put down two bowls”. I like his way of thinking.
amyewest.bsky.social
Glad we don’t have to give Padma medicine regularly (and hope it stays that way) bc you’d think we were about to torture her. She got about .7 of the intended 1 ml of Gabapentin and that’s just going to have to do.

How about that! The last game i remember watching when I still lived in Seattle was one in which Mariners were up by a similar amount; went into the 9th and then lost. But not this time! Whee!

I appreciate the Blue Jays for knocking out the hated Yankees but I think the clear optimal postseason outcome at this point is a Mariners v Brewers World Series, in which the teams would combine for zero championships

a team being guaranteed their first title would be pretty fucking cool

Padma’s annual exam is tomorrow. I just registered that I need to give her Gabapentin. That’ll be fun. And I’ll need to do it p much as soon as I wake up too. Argh.

Cal Raleigh is not so charismatic that blowing snot out of his nose on camera is ok.
