Universities sell themselves as vocational schools at their own peril. Vocational programs don't need most academic departments vital to legitimate higher ed.

If your university shrinks enough, Mr. Associate VP of "Procurement," they won't need you much longer either.

I thought they’d pinch hit for him a minute ago and we wouldn’t see him again. It’s not like they don’t have viable options. But he’s eating pain like nails—(and like whatever OxyContin derivative he’s on). I agree it’s hard to see him tomorrow. The soreness will be insane.
