3) folks with privilege - if you see kidnappers or masked vigilantes harassing folks of color - our job is to disrupt the process and separate the intended target. This takes as many folks as possible. If you're alone or if we fail - document and get their name and contact info of a loved one

I'm thinking of doing another thing in lieu of NaNoWriMo this year.

Last year I hosted weekly virtual write-ins. I'm thinking of doing that PLUS sending daily writing prompts and an occasional pep talk. Free, as in the spirit of NaNo.

also we as a people don't always distinguish compassion from empathy. I know folks who don't understand why something makes a person feel the way they do but they CARE about the feeling. Those are 2 different things.

I think sociopaths have empathy but no compassion.
