Last year, a group of wealthy #Kirkland homeowners created a group called "Cherish Kirkland" to fight against the city's 2044 comprehensive plan.

They have aggressively spread misinfo, & have been hostile to renters and those supporting inclusivity

It's not funny, and it's not a game, yet here we are.

It took only 10 months for We 💚 Seattle to be all in for authoritarianism.

For context, the La Quinta hotel was OK'd by Kirkland for use as Supportive Housing in 2022 for community members facing homelessness.

Since then, it has been the subject of much misinfo and ugly rhetoric.

Even after LUMC's Safe Parking organizer corrected Catie's misinfo, she still tried to find a way to create a wedge between La Quinta Supportive Housing & Kirkland's Safe Parking Program.

Catie was also unaware that while doing this, she was speaking to their co-founder.

Another strange thing I noticed about this "Great Debate" co-hosted by We 💚 Seattle is that I've only seen it advertised by Republican candidates, our local GOP, and, of course, WHS, which probably explains why the conservative-leaning candidates had such a friendly audience.

So far, 2 candidates have officially dropped: Alexis Mercedes-Rinck and Dionne Foster.

None of the candidates were told that We 💚 Seattle was involved, and some weren't even asked beforehand.

As of this writing, they haven't taken Dionne Foster off the advertisements.

What's wild about all the money & efforts folks at Let's Go WA & Brian Heywood are throwing at these anti trans initiatives is that there are only 5-10 trans athletes in the entire STATE.

Out of 250,000 student athletes in WA, only 5-10 are trans.

They had it anyway, right outside, & called community members who showed up to protest them "violent terrorists"
