Aden Ng has published a deep dive video about AltNPS (& AltYello), the dangers of their money grabs, & how your personal data may be at risk.
With background info from @drsturg.bsky.social book, We Are #AltGov, & current watchdog @altwatcher.bsky.social adding context, this is quite informative.

First we have the election.

Then, we had funding removed. Grants, loans, regular appropriations.

Then we had the fork emails and the deffered resignations that took talented folks because they were afraid.

Then, they threatened to use Reduction in Force to threaten to fire us.

Thread on CDC shooting👇...

Good morning.

Yesterday, after hours of hiding, trying not to make a sound, we stepped outside and saw massive bullet holes in our office windows.

Those weren’t random shots. That was a high-powered weapon no civilian should ever own.

Keep sciencing. We are living through a time when looking at a rock and wondering how old it is qualifies as an act of resistance.

On my way to where the air is sweet
Can you tell me how to get?
How to get to Sesame Street
Did you know that for $5/month, you can get PBS Passport, a service that unlocks the vastness of the @pbs.org libraries?
Feed your mind while you help PBS stay on the air.
The station would meet its goal. But you’re right, it will vary by station and population given the area footprint.
The amount of funding that has been lost for a current member station is $2.5 million. This would mean that the fundraising arm would have to raise a total of $3.6 million in order to keep the network going. Since this is a smaller station, if every person in the footprint gave around $1.50, then
Private donors, businesses, and foundations are what will ultimately help the most in our current climate. Starting with local level support, things can be saved.
To my knowledge, no other PBS programming is getting picked up by streaming services. Sesame Street was purchased by HBO some time ago, so it is an outlier in regard to programming that was originally produced for PBS and now has a home somewhere else.
Is a bevy of art that is legitimate and can be credited to an individual. Thank you and I hope I’ve answered you fully and to your satisfaction.
Former PBS employee and currently contracting with a local PBS station that has already lost a portion of its funding. My area of expertise is individual fundraising and I’ve been doing that for over five years.

I absolutely own posting that AI art and will remove it, because you’re right, there
Precisely. Monthly sustainers give stations the ability to plan ahead since they have a much better idea of what donations are coming in.
I think it’s natural to feel hopeless right now. However, the children of this country shouldn’t have to grow up without role models that inspire and celebrate them for the wonderful, diverse humans they are. So, we continue to fight because they deserve better.
If you can spare $5/month, you can help. This not only gives you access to PBS passport, but it directly supports your local station.
Correct. These scars will last for a long time.
Donate to your local station and support other stations if you are able. If you know of private foundations, write to them and inform them of how essential PBS is and urge them to support financially.
As for larger stations, in past experience, they have helped smaller stations through sharing resources and collaborating on productions. We don’t know if that will translate to fundraising in this climate or not.
