Yeah, I guess he is using this government shut down as a chance to just do what he wants to the house. 😣
I didn’t realize the president was allowed to just tear down parts of the White House. It’s a historical building, and even in my small town there are so many rules around what you can and can’t do to historic property (even privately owned). This makes me so sad. 😞
Change can come slowly, and then all at once. Hopefully we are in a season of renewal. 💞
I’m so thankful that I just saw a prayer for a friend come to fruition. She doesn’t know how much my heart has been breaking for her for years, and I don’t want her to know because she has her own burdens to bear. I’ll continue to pray for her, and shout to the wind love for her and others.

To all the parents who brought us up in Christian spaces…

Y’all taught us this.
I can’t wait to see this in future students history books. There is hope for us! 🥹

Our crisis in America is political…
But it is also deeply spiritual.

There are people using the Christian faith to camouflage their bigotry. And many Christians are defending very unChristlike things. So it’s great to see so many people out today at No Kings protests making it plain.
Wait, this is making me emotional. Columbia/Spring Hill has a very special place in my heart for several reasons, including the fact that I lived in that area as a kid for a few of my happiest years. To see TN standing against the current administration’s overreach is soothing to my soul. 🚫👑
Yeah these questions trigger me in that same way as well. It’s too loaded of a question. 😕
I can see why they used the same director from the Hunger Games series! They have extremely similar themes, message, and atmosphere. It felt…grounded in a horrible reality. Oof, this one will stick with me. #thelongwalk ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve never seen a Stephen King movie adaptation that scared me, but they always disturb me to my very core. The Long Walk was absolutely incredible, but I actually had to look away from the screen a few times, and once too late! 😳
I hope to better love where I am instead of always wanting to be somewhere else. I’m trying, I really really am.
Oh, if only people understood just how hard I am trying to connect, trying to feel like I belong, and trying to make this feel like home. I try not to daydream about Seattle in 2001, Nashville when the sun sets, and Chicago’s windy days.
Despite being more social this year compared to the last few, I actually feel more alone than ever. Sometimes it feels like the more people I talk to the more I miss my childhood friends and the more strange I feel. Everything just feels off in a way I can’t describe.

If every time I condemn sexism, nationalism, white supremacy, and homophobia/transphobia you assume I’m condemning Christians, that tells me all I need to know about your version of Christianity.
Why do I know so many conspiracy theorists!? I feel like I’m on the wrong planet sometimes!!

And to be very clear “taking sides” does not meaning being a Republican or Democrat, but choosing a side on specific issues that are actively affecting the lives of your neighbors. It’s about not being passive to suffering, but deciding “hey, that’s wrong, what side of history am I on?”
“I don’t take sides” “I don’t talk about politics” are not how we help people being harmed by their government. We have to choose the marginalized, and we have to do what we are capable of to make things a little better in this world. ☮️🫶

Many of us grew up in the church being taught to root for Moses, Daniel, and John the Baptist in the Bible, only to grow up and have our churches question our faith for not cheering on the Pharaohs, Nebuchadnezzars, and Herods in our world today.
Right now I’m just wanting to experiment with different houses of worship. My faith struggles, but my choice stays firm. I choose the hope and love of my little girl faith, while accepting that I will always question each step. I just can’t believe that life, all life, is a coincidence.
My comfort level and worship style are at ends with my current theological beliefs, making it a choice between the church’s teachings and my preferred service style. Obviously I choose values over the structured service, but it doesn’t change the nostalgia for my childhood faith.
