Those three principles are 1. Modeling disorders as polygenic. 2. Including control for population stratification. 3. Awareness of environmental context. Now out on pubmed!
We lay out three consensuses from the field of psychiatric genetics that should be considered before approving genetic tests for psychiatric disorders. You gotta play “smells like teen spirit” if it’s an adolescent psychiatry conference.
I feel this in my bones.
Sample size, discovery power, and effect size of lead SNPs were the strongest determinants of enrichment, as opposed to biological function. I hope it serves as a demonstration of the practical benefit of scientific discovery. I'd like to thank my Coauthors.
Those disorders with larger sample sizes in their GWAS discovery set were significantly enriched for current treatments for those disorders. Those were, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, MDD, and SUDs. Those disorders with smaller samples were not (yet!) enriched.

There are articles out there on lesions in deep neural networks in many applications. LLMs can do it in multiple ways, one is attention mapping (as @michelnivard.bsky.social pointed out). Do you know what they used the lesion to test? Was it attention or something else? It would help me find it.

Thanks for sharing this thread and your thoughts. I’ve been thinking along the same lines recently.
So where does the AI race end? Space race was the moon. AI..also the moon?
Np. Reddit accounts are good for this kind of thing. I know it’s got a lot of bad too, but people there are much better at this than I am.
I’m not familiar with that plant species, but generally what I would do since I can’t tell if it’s fungal or bacterial.
Yellowing could also be bacterial.
