I know this game from one of our italian yt reviewers and honestly the funniest detail about it is that they have their own halhearted attempt at a squad tactics menu but it only shows up at the start of the match and only has 2 options: Attack/Defend… guess what happens if you pick Defend

MK4 is the game of all time.
By a team that had no way in hell to even bring half of it to the platform in any way shape or form.
It gave us the most commedic secret unlock ever: gettting to play as Reptile in the one entry where his ending is him getting bodied for no reason.

MK2 is the devs finally getting to grips with the actual console and finally getting at least ⅔ of the roster in (even if they prioritized the palette swaps) but actually improves the command imputs.
MK3 is a completely different team and they clearly had the same issue as the first attempt…

i think its interesting to see the various Portable MKs and realize what each one does differently:
Mk1 is the first attempt and its by the same company that did the MD port, so it just feels wrong and incomplete.
Only good point is unlocking goro after beating arcade mode once.

I am stilla firm believer a PSASBR type project should have been attempted at least arround the time of the PS2, because holy actual hell, with what we ended up finding out on the behind the scenes of psasbr is depressing
