I'm super excited to announce that my game The Labyrinth At The End Of Time has an official soundtrack from the Irish Indie rock band Bicurious!
They've helped me achieve a life long dream by letting me make a game with a soundtrack that rocks as much as the gameplay.
Crank that volume!
I deleted my account back when they thanked Trump for saving them after the election.
I don't have high tolerance for bullshit.
"Wait, four interviews?"
Yes.
"At 4 am?"
That's correct.
"Like in one week?"
Over the course of a month.
"So they fucked your sleep schedule for a month and still expected you to be chipper by the end? How'd they think that would work?"
Exactly as intended I suspect.
Currently planning on being in Finland for a while once I get my passport.
Job is willing to work with me to figure out how I can remote in. 10 hour time difference is no joke.

I had an interview once for a job in Finland at 4am.
It did not go well!
(the 3 others before it did though - go figure)
Less crying today than usual.

Which honestly kinda makes me feel like crying but here we are.
The trick is also - this isn't the first time something like this will have happened to you.
Do this long enough and you'll encounter a million problems like this, and half of those are worse than whatever is happening now.
You survived those and you'll get through it again.
GameDev can be stressful but I feel like we add a lot of that stress ourselves.

Players can too, but they are also literal babies sometimes so try not to take them too seriously.

One time I helped a coworker calm down by reminding them we just work on games - not cancer research or rocket science.
*New GameDev when a bad issue is found on the live build*
Oh no! Oh god! Oh jeez! Okay, let's get this fixed now! Hooooly crap! I'm going to die of stress! Rally, team! Rally!

*after 15 years*
Ah dang alright. Let's get that fixed then.
These kids are young and didn't learn how to couch their language in plausible deniability.

"No no no, you just think I'm racist because all my economic opinions have an outsized impact on marginalized groups. But I'm just being fiscally responsible. Anyway, don't tax white billionaires."
This is why I don't trust conservatives.
They never say what they actually think in public, and only reveal their true opinions when they believe themselves to be around safe people.
They also think any other white people who disagrees with them are faking it because they are afraid of judgment.

every time i see one of these guys i'm just like "why do they look like that?"
How much of this game is upgrading equipment by killing adorable animals?
I was under the impression I'd be hunting big robot dinos. This is bullshit.
One small solace I have is that if my mother had passed even three months ago she'd have left worrying about me a lot.
Instead she left after I rallied myself to meet a big challenge that resulted in a lot of good exciting feedback.
I like to think she was less worried about me than she had been.
I put so much effort in to writing bugs and adding details to the description that when someone comes to me having clearly only read the one line summary I truly wonder if the respect is mutual.
It's been years now but I feel like BOTW did a better job of getting the player out there and exploring more by not putting anything on the map.
I'm 17 hours in and still in the first environment. Granted I did buy the item maps, knowing my brain couldn't ignore them.
Really I did this to myself.

Me - an "Elder Millennial" - any time someone realizes their childhood was over 20 years ago.
That James Franco meme where it looks like a western, he has a noose around his neck, and is looking smugly to his left asking "First time?"
I don't even have either modern console.
I have a Switch 2 but literally played that thing for two weeks before forgetting about it.
Gamer kids wanna play on PC now. They don't care about consoles. Only the most boring expensive games come out on those.
Non-gamer kids just play Roblox if anything.
I don't understand Christmas ornaments that are just a character. Not even wearing a Santa hat or anything. It's just, like, Sonic hanging on your Christmas tree.
Someone wants that?
Why? (do not answer - I don't care)
This game's story is so self serious and then I met a guy who kills bandits because "I like killing and bandits need killing."
I ended up buying the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster cause I wanted a game that would just tell me what to do.

I'm enjoying it a lot more than RDR2 so far. It's fun and compelling. I've had the story spoiled a long time ago but I'm interested in seeing how it plays out.

Aiming sucks with Xbox gamepad.
Works on my machine.
In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.
Occasionally over the years a ladybug would land on me. I'd take a picture and send it to my mom with the message "Got a little visit from you today" which she always loved.

I'll be sending them to my sister now and going "Got a little visit from aiti today."
I wonder if you make more than one food item at a time in a replicator do the flavours get mixed up at all?
Or maybe I’ll just play Baby Steps again while listening to podcasts.
