I’ve got some time to myself, so I’m trying to figure out if this mountain is part of the Everest range. The river below is the Mahananda River, and the view is toward the north.

One of the weirdest ritual that the urban middle class Indians have developed over the last decade or so is the practice of celebrating their birthdays at an orphanage. Yes, it’s a legit thing people do, where they go and cut a cake at an orphanage surrounded by orphan kids.
In Singapore for the next couple of days; I’m scheduled to speak at a conf. While I’m here I’m also looking to meet fellow journalists, policy wonks/AI policy researchers. Happy to have a chat over coffee :)
India’s state capacity is so low that it sort of parallels the British Raj, i.e., merely hundreds or thousands of officers ruling an entire subcontinent. The Raj had limited numbers likely due to technological constraints at that time. Our constraints today are purely artificial.

The best part about India is meeting people whose names are inspired by historical figures/events. It can range from Stalin to Saddam Hussein to George Bush to Bill Clinton. And sometimes you’ll meet Covid Kumar. Bakchodo ka desh hai 🫶🏻

I’m now based in Delhi and looking to connect with folks working in tech, AI, policy, or governance. If you’re a founder, VC, or working on something interesting, I’d love to chat; feel free to reach out :)

Hi all.

I am looking for a full-time (remote) position while I pursue my Master’s degree in ML/DS (part-time). Prior to this, I have held a five-year career as a journalist, where I extensively applied open-source research to cover disinformation, tech policy, and trust & safety.

Thanks.

The #OSINT #OSI community is thriving on LinkedIn. Idk how I missed that.

As one ages, a fondness for seemingly banal jokes emerges within them. A chuckle erupts every time a joke about Steve Jobs being “Jobless” or Dr. Ally Louks being “Dr. Ali Goodlooks” is uttered. Despite their inherent absurdity, these jokes offer a sense of solace.
It appears I received a handful of readers from Bluesky. Thank you for reading :)
