Our new study, led in collaboration with Helmholtz Munich as part of a global collaboration, was published yesterday.

It generated the first wheat pan-transcriptome – a comprehensive map of gene activity across multiple wheat varieties. rdcu.be/eJOPs
De novo annotation reveals transcriptomic complexity across the hexaploid wheat pan-genome
Nature Communications - Available wheat genomes are annotated by projecting Chinese Spring gene models across the new assemblies. Here, the authors generate de novo gene annotations for the 9 wheat...

Managed to get some of my lab out of the office to visit #cereals this year @earlhaminst.bsky.social
Please pass this on to any undergraduates or postgraduates who might be interested. The closing date is 14th May.
I have a PhD project funded by the John Innes Foundation, "Uncovering Genetic Drivers of Gene Expression in Elite Wheat Varieties", from the 1st of October 2025. #wheat #bioinformatics Apply now www.earlham.ac.uk/studentship/...

My PhD is focused on trait discovery in herb crops of the Apiaceae family. Together with Elsoms Seeds, we are exploring how low-cost genomics can accelerate breeding of these previously under-resourced crops. ^Charles

Well done, Connor, on submitting your first paper as the first author: "Machine learning models reveal environmental and genetic factors associated with the plant circadian clock." And a nice collaboration with @antdodd.bsky.social #circadian #plants Should be on bioarchive in the next few weeks.
Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #9,799,100!
