And with Trails in the Sky finished, here's my updated top 10 games I've played this year! Pokemon Legends Arceus gets kicked out and Trails in the Sky slides in at #3.

Next up, my first visual novel in a very long while!
Do I have criticisms? You bet. Was it boring sometimes? Sure. Annoying? Occasionally. But you know what? I don't care. Because all I want to do is adventure around a world with goofy adventures like they did.

And that's the kind of escapism that makes video games so freaking great.

I cannot express how "comfortable" Sky 1st Chapter made me feel. Not exactly "cozy" because it's not a game like that, but it's the type of experience that you just like - love, even - and you really just can't explain why apart from that you just... do.
Game #17 of 2025 completed: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter!

As a relatively new fan to Trails, if my first game made me understand the appeal, my second made me completely hooked. While i isn't my favorite game that I -played- this year, Sky 1st Chapter is my favorite game release of 2025.

My favorite thing is when a truck’s hood is taller than my entire car.
Sandbag is in Kirby Air Riders. My life is complete.
Agreed. I always liked to play with HP on and I was super-happy when it was revealed in the first direct that Air Riders will have that option too.
Same. And while I do really like it, I think it was the discourse around how much I was -supposed- to like it soured me on it a bit.
Today in my mailbox: The iam8bit release of Another Crab’s Treasure for PS5! This quirky “Baby’s First Soulslike” is filled with what has become Aggro Crab’s signature topical, on-the-nose type humor.
It's a tricky biscuit because, in the end, you're still dependent on the IP holder / storefront maintaining your ability to continue to download the thing you "own".

And unfortunately, we'll never, ever see legal ways to "keep" Nintendo's first-party catalogue like GOG does for PC games.
That particular Twitter account aside, Z-A still deserves some criticism. With the exception of the character models, still looks bad (because it has to run on Switch 1) and the pricing is atrocious.

But saying that people are stupid or “sheep” for enjoying it is dead wrong.
I got my list down to 30. A single in-game PC box” of my favorites.
Last no-context screenshot for a while since it's pretty spoiler-heavy now. Onward to the endgame.
Confirmed. Dorothy gets the best lines.
Ah yes, I can smell the salt and vinegar from over here!
Made my first post on Twitter in like 5 years to keep myself out of that potential pool of handles. Not interested in being impersonated (even if I don't even remotely have any semblance of a following).
So then what's the comfort game equivalent of Boardwalk french fries? Inquiring minds want to know @hananomaude.bsky.social !
Not done yet, but I feel confident to say: I was skeptical about JYB's continued ability to play a younger character like Sky Joshua considering how long he's been at it, but he absolutely still nailed it. I'm looking forward to hearing him as Hajime again when Danganronpa 2x2 releases.
Very frustrating that Fangamer now has the Slay The Princess art book in stock, ready to ship, and I'm still waiting for my pre-order directly from the Serenity Forge store.

Could've been an email.
So when Autodesk Construction Cloud goes down, do all the architects and engineers come out to socialize?

Asking for a friend.
Today in my mailbox: The Apocalypse Hotel official visual works book!

I caught Apocalypse Hotel a season late and instantly loved it. And this is an art book done right - packed with not just art, but storyboards too!
Art direction >>>>> Graphical fidelity. Every time.
