I just picked up an 03 Tacoma earlier this year with less than 130k, almost perfect condition, one previous owner and every service record in its lifespan. I'm pushing 40 and I hope my truck outlives me.

I'm starting to think the internet & cell phone tech shouldn't have advanced past about 2007. Imagine how different the world would be now if the furthest we went w/ social media was kids learning HTML so they could customize their Myspace page, and those slider cell phones with the full keyboard.
I think the west coast will be the first to go. We could probably make a go of it as our own medium country. Between Cali, Oregon and Washington we would have about the same population as all of Spain and half of Portugal.

I think I might be a little worried about my brain if I'm talking with a writer of dystopian stories and I guess a premise that's even darker than the actual premise. I blame watching Handmaid's Tale during covid lockdown 💀
