"is that the best you've got, you woolly-headed bourgeois twat?" Absolutely brutal in the original Russian.
adsquires.bsky.social
Don't do this, it takes valuable resources away from etc etc.

Also disappointed by the lack of "911? So US-centric, it's supposed to be 999" discourse.

I've entirely lost track of who's being serious and who's got which joke?
adsquires.bsky.social
I'm fairly sure that the pixelated person got the joke and was also joking.

But then maybe the next repost of *them* was aware of that and making a further joke? And the joke's really on me?

Next time somebody asks me what Bluesky is like, I'll send them this

Right! I can think of only four, maybe five if you count Anton.

Also (for the right) he hasn't "beaten Hamas" either.
The best time for him would have been just after the Iran strike and Hezbollah pager attacks.

What happens next is anyone's guess, but there's a good chance that with time the public forgets about his continuation of a very unpopular war.
adsquires.bsky.social
It is, but then I'm not sure the less tel-aviv-y right would be impressed with him now either (for them his schtick was "I can play the US president and avoid making concessions towards Palestinians", no?)
adsquires.bsky.social
Who are you thinking? Bennett?
adsquires.bsky.social
Dunno about that. He was booed in Hostage Square in tel Aviv when Trump and Witkoff were cheered.

As so often, @laylamoran.bsky.social finds gracious, unifying words.

"I choose to believe that peace is possible. Everyone who went on a protest, wrote to their MP, cares about it, shouted at their TV - from whatever point of view - what were those deaths for, if not for a sustainable peace?" ~AA

I wasn't (not that you can tell either way from this low-res reproduction) but this also works as a "different era" wordplay.

Apparently the inhibitor molecules are made by "lizards" but it's unclear if that's "lizards" in the David Icke sense.

If it's all the same with them I'd rather they promoted the conspiracy with a medicine like Ozempic where someone else's uptake doesn't affect me, rather than vax, where it does.
adsquires.bsky.social
Yes, good point! Something to do with whether the sorts of people promoting the conspiracy theories might imagine themselves using it? Whether Jewish scientists were involved? Does seem rather arbitrary, now you've pointed it out.
adsquires.bsky.social
Yes. America produces the finest of the "British food" discourses, everyone agrees.

(Although this was British irony and not a real American)
adsquires.bsky.social
It's exactly like conkers.
adsquires.bsky.social
It's all good. You can't have too much Chicken Tikka Masala info. (Or too much Chicken Tikka Masala)
adsquires.bsky.social
I was, but no need to apologize for educating Bluesky re Chicken Tikka Masala - thank you for the article!

(I toyed with the idea of replying "they're not Brits you dumbass coloniser they're Indians lol" but I think one can take irony too far)

Maybe if you Brits did a bit of cultural appropriation with your *food* it wouldn't be like boiled beans and cabbage.

Was so-called "Independent SAGE" set up to undermine trust in SAGE advice?
adsquires.bsky.social
Entirely false. Quite a few people were in both, much of the advice was the same - iSAGE would often quote and amplify SAGE's advice in theirs. It was set up when / because SAGE's advice wasn't published, so govt could lie and claim they were following it when they weren't. (Which was what happened)
adsquires.bsky.social
Yes, I think you meant to type "racism".

Two circular logos side by side. On the left is the Smart Air logo which reads ‘Smart Air’, in white lettering on a dark blue background. One the right is the Air Library Scotland logo which has a seal balancing a pinwheel on its nose. There are three lines curved at the end to indicate airflow. Text beside it reads “Air Library Scotland”.

Above the logos there is a heading which reads “we’re an affiliate!”.

Below the logos the body text reads “By using our referral link (in bio) when purchasing from Smart Air, you help to support our free lending library”.
