He pops up when you least expect it! 😀
"Heraghty's" Glasgow. Best pint of Guinness in Glasgow according to Paolo Nutini. I wouldn't know about that kind of thing but a decent endorsement nonetheless. A popular haunt of Jack McLean in the 90s. When you couldn't reach him at The Herald you only had to......
*Postcards* @dewarsaberfeldy have had these in their visitor centre for ages now but they're now available to buy from the online shoap. Founded by John Dewar & Sons it was one of the worldwide market leaders of their day. They also produced the first cinema advert for whisky..........
"Speyside Distilleries" Updated to include Dallas Dhu currently undergoing some renovations before production restarts under the guidance of Aceo Spirits In the meantime you can always nip 10 mins up the rd to Benromach and do their tour. amcmurchie.com/product/spey...
"The Lismore" Interior designed by the elusive Ranald MacColl. He employed me to help paint the set for the Ayr Gaiety panto years ago but didn't have enough cash to pay me on the last day so for the next 2 years whenever I bumped into him in the pub he'd stick 20 quid in my pocket......
the North Sea from Sandend beach! It's literally round the back and a wee hop over the Fordyce burn. Rachel Barrie is at the helm of blending here which goes to prove studying chemistry at Uni can have its upsides. A4 digital print on 230 gram matt heavyweight paper. amcmurchie.com/product/glen...
Glenglassaugh Distillery Print ‣ Adrian B McMurchie - The Glasgow Illustrator
"A distillery a day" #89 Glenglassaugh (Highland) 1875 Despite its age it lay silent for more than half of its existence. Owned by everyone and their granny over the years it is now in the safe hands ...

"Glenglassaugh Distillery" It’s been owned by everyone and their granny over the years but now in the safe hands of Brown-Forman. They've NOT mothballed it. It's just having some quieter seasons. If you don’t care too much for whisky take yourself outside and marvel at the dramatic beauty of.....
"The Apollo" Felt like it was open for decades but it was only 12 years! Tbf it was Green's Playhouse before that from 1920. That's why it had a ridiculously high stage at 12ft. It housed the cinema screen when they used it for live performances. Apparently it also helped......
The penultimate label for www.mmm.com Illustrator's series. The Whitlaw (named after the hills behind Highland Park Distillery) 2003 single cask. Founded by Magnus Eunson, a church officer by day and whisky smuggler by night. Nice. The less romantic story is......
"Doulton Fountain" by sculptor AE Pearce who unsurprisingly worked at Doulton's ceramics factory. Originally commissioned for the 1888 International Exhibition in Kelvingrove but now sits in Glasgow Green. There's a teeny toaty replica of it on the Falls Rd, Belfast.....
King's Theatre, Glasgow. I worked as stage crew here a few times in the 90s. I lived on Elmbank St so it was rare and handy. The wee upstairs bar with balcony is the hottest place on earth in the summer! #adrianmcmurchie #theglasgowillustrator #shopscotland amcmurchie.com/product/king...
"The Duke" 12 ounce cotton tote. They aren't cheap to make but the quality is topper! They used to be black print on white bags and they sold. These bags sell 3 times as fast! Wish I'd considered that 10 years ago!! #adrianmcmurchie #theglasgowillustrator www.deadfamouscities.com/product/the-...
It's begining production once again! It's right beside the Dava Way. Cracking walking/cycling route that used to be the Highland Railway from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres. It's also got the best name out of all the distilleries amcmurchie.com/product/dall...

"A distillery a day" #152 Dallas Dhu (Speyside) Dallas Dhu 1889 The chosen one. So many distilleries closed in the 70s & 80s due to the whisky loch. @historicscotland in their infinite wisdom bought it and turned it into a whisky distilling museum. Genius. That's not the best bit.....
Brora Distillery. Listen very carefully. Originally called Clynelish until that opened behind you in 1968. Changed its name to Brora. Mothballed in 1983.
Reopened in 2021. With me so far? More good news, the original stills were retained and are once again in operation after......
It’s situated on the outskirts of East Kilbride but you would have no idea as you are surrounded by fields. It feels more like Speyside. They also make a lager you can only buy in their impressive bar. Family run. Guid folk.
Whisky prints & postcards. @raerwhisky Jackton Distillery as of this weekend. The only distillery in Scotland to use virgin oak casks from the Chambord Estate. I've seen them with my own eyes. They’ve also built several beautifully designed cottages onsite you can stay in.......
Another alternative view of Glasgow. Park Circus from Woodlands Rd. Arlington St. to be precise. St Jude's Church in the foreground by John Burnet who also designed the Arlington Baths behind you. Oddbins on the right sadly no more and Arlington Bar on the left where the real Stone of Destiny lives
