Ha, are you saying the others aren't much cop then?! 🤣
Positively filthy! So is PM's tbf, just in a different way. I haven't got to yours yet, but I'm getting there. V thankful to have summat sensible (ish) to flee with when 6.30's torture show kicks off. The horror, the horror.
It's official – ‪@cranberryfez.bsky.social‬ has just broken me. Along with several pencils! vg
In homorange to Henri, BOOM!! 👏 to all
Ha, I actually misread your earlier comment, wrongly thinking you were going to chivvy the post to defend his honour. But I belatedly realise you meant the exact opposite. Welcome to the dark side!
Too late – the posties in SE16 are clearly on strike. Matt's doomed. DOOMED, I say!
Judging by that dodgy orange product, he’s clearly nipped to Bodrum for a cheeky weave and now has a full fro do. It even explains his new moniker!
Has anyone seen Henri's hair lately?!
Ha, cheers for the tip mate!
I warn you now – if there's not a copy waiting in my postbox I'm going to write another rude clue about Matt!
It's the orange thing that intrigues me. What the hell's that?!
All potential crossword clues, those. Car-key is my particular favourite!
Ha, AI is (sadly) getting there, but it sure ain't there yet. However, if Pandora's box isn't P~A, I will be sad. As an anagram indicator, though ... hmm!
May I just applaud you for starting this thread. SO much more interesting than work. On a (slightly) more serious note, I do think the syllabus should be reconsidered. I firmly believe pupils would greatly benefit from more Sally Wainwright and less Shakespeare. And maybe replace Hardy with Updike?
True, true. But how many novelists of his vintage and beyond were subtle? Dickens was about as subtle as a sledgehammer. And don't get me started on Austen. It's the preposterous, oft-floated suggestion that Hardy was an early feminist that makes me snort the most!
Up to a point, Lord Copper! But you've got to admit this is pretty bad, no?

Haha – I've not heard the dread words "pathetic fallacy" since 1986. I can't argue with that. Spot on. I just rather liked all the thistle milk and slug slime. But you rate his poetry? Pfft!
Ha, tragically I'm clearly in a world of one! I take your point about the ghastly Angel but there are some lovely passages in Tess and Jude was despised by the Victorians – that's praise enough for me. As for his poetry, I can't agree. Full of sad people playing in darkened rooms. Bored me to tears!
Lumme, that's a tad strong! NOOO!!!
