Starting today, and continuing sporadically, I’m creating a thread where I’ll be posting a tribute to the most beautiful woman in a film per year for every year of my life to date.

(All totally personal and subjective of course.)

Here’s a little taste of what to look forward to…

🧵
2001: Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

This was the year I first fell in love with movies and started going to the cinema regularly.

Angie as Lara was a key part of that. This casting was such a big deal at the time it’s hard to convey to anyone who wasn’t there just how big it/she was.
Happy World Candy Day

Halloween was less than a week ago, and already we’re being given an excuse to indulge our sweet tooth again…

Anyway, here’s Gillian Anderson sucking on a lollipop to mark the occasion!
Eva Longoria

Shot for Maxim, January 2014, by Randall Slavin.

Olivia Wilde

Shot for GQ, October 2009, by Peggy Sirota.

Part 1 of 3
Jennifer Carpenter

Shot for The Lab Magazine, August 2012, by Jason Tyler.

Part 1 of 3
Iconic blonde Cameron Diaz looks just as good as a brunette, as evidenced by this breathtaking shoot for W Magazine (December 2006, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott).

Part 1 of 3
I love how dynamic and colourful Ellen von Unwerth’s photography is. It’s so distinct, and best of all the women involved always look like they’re having a blast.

She manages to capture perfect, natural moments of quirkiness and joy, all within a framework that’s sexy and celebratory.

Part 2 of 3
Following on from the Pamela Anderson Playboy shoot I posted yesterday, here are a few extra shots that didn’t make the print version of the magazine.

Part 1 of 3
2000: Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled

Here we go again…

Another year, another Brendan Fraser modern classic co-starring a posh English brunette who’s as hysterically funny as she is deliriously sexy. I wish Hurley had been in more films, because she’s as natural a Movie Star as I have ever seen.
