Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

Controlled-release fertilizers can contain plastic!!! A newly released study shows this is a serious issue in agriculture in the US and likely other countries as well. I urge people to check out what the fertilizers they use contain and choose organic slow-release options e.g. compost, manure.

Also, Greenland is semi-autonomous and its population is 90% Indigenous. It's insulting and frankly, ethically challenged to be so colonialist towards a country that has suffered greatly under colonialism.
