For All Hallow’s this year I’m “a recent Covid infection.”
Thank you! It’s just a matter of time, unfortunately.
I’m off work sick with a terrible cold/flu. Which means I’m in that weird liminal space between “so tired I can’t get off the couch” and “bored out of my tree.”
On my recent trip back home, it was confirmed that one of my uncles (of whom there are many) thinks that my mother is a witch (which he means in both a spooky and pejorative sense).

And because I am the Son of THE Witch, he’s reluctant to associate with me.

I’m not mad about it.

Is there such a thing as too much spice, though?
A quiet moment in the garden before I head home.
Clifton House; supposedly haunted (can confirm) and also where I lived for a time when I was wee.
One of them appears to be from 1916-ish.
My uncle who, in his working days, was also in the communications field, hauled out these vintage bottles of #fountainpen ink he still had squirrelled away.
I had never actually seen an inkwell + desk clock combo before, but apparently they were not uncommon in the early 1900s.
I’m not one for family heirlooms, but as a #fountainpen lover, I couldn't say no to my great-grandfather’s old Capwell inkstand (the clock still works, too!).

Family lore (and documents) indicate that he was gifted it after winning a sports match at Trinity in the 1930s.
Cold as a nun’s t*t in the wind today, but the view was worth it.
Staying in the house I (partially) grew up in, and remembering this banister knob when it was freshly painted.
Due to a late connecting flight, I just had a very “Darjeeling Limited” experience running across the tarmac, bag in hand, onto a waiting airplane on my way to St. John’s. (Yes, they closed the door right behind me.)

ROOOOOOOOXANNE! You don’t have to put on that red (okay, maybe fuchsia) light!

Things overheard at in airport security lineup:

Agent 1: Where is [colleague’s name]? We need to open another line.

Agent 2: He’s coming, he’s coming.

Agent 1: Jesus and my ex said that too, and I’m still waiting on both!
